When you opened your eyes you were on the ground clutching your broom. Looking up you saw the sky full of stars, but something was off about them. You weren’t an astronomer, and spent most of your life in the city. But on the occasions when you did see stars they weren’t this. Bright. Or this close together. Looking around you could see everything like it was day time.
Speaking of looking around, you were in the middle of a dense black forest right now. On a cobblestone path.
You stood up and dusted your self off. Looking around you had no idea where you where, but you probably weren’t on Earth anymore given the moon.
If you thought the stars where strange that was nothing compared to the moon. It dominated the sky way larger than the moon on Earth. Sticking out your hand and spreading your fingers wide still didn’t even come close to covering it. Maybe that was the source of all the light? If it wasn’t for magic than it might have been on a collision course with Earth. Or where ever you where now.
Under the moon and at the end of the path you where on was a building.
With nothing better to do and not wanting to use your broom again for fear of it sending you somewhere else, you made your way towards the building.
Your high heals echo through the woods being heard over the various insect maiting calls all around you.
Now comming up on the building you could make it out in more detail. It was wooden, and vaguely old European architecture, but it was also tall. At least twenty stories and looked to defy the laws of gravity. Towering and leaning in the breeze creaking. It looked like it could collapse with the slightest touch. But it stood firm a towering mountain of lumber and plaster. Given magic being magic you wouldn’t be surprised to learn if it was bigger on the inside to. Inside you saw orange lights glowing inside, but white blinds covered all the windows.
From where you stood you could make out the silhouette of various female shadows moving around inside. Some working on bubbling potions. Others hunched over large books. One even featured what appeared to be a sexy slumber party pillow fight, with if your eyes weren’t playing tricks on you, Taistful nudity. Every woman silhouette had a pointed hat on (except the slumber party one).
Looking back down to the road you found a sign with an owl perched on it.
“Welcome young lady to: ‘St. Sara’s Girl School for the Magically Gifted.’” The owl spoke the name on the sign it was perched on. It’s voice was... off, hollow. It didn’t move it’s beak to the words, instead it opened its beak and the words came out. The voice was female, but sounded like it was recorded on a cassette tape and played back again and again. It also wasn’t helping that they eyes didn’t look at you. The owl eyes were wide as dinner plates and pointed in your direction, but not at you. If this where a park you would think it was an animatronic owl. But since it was magic not science her it make have been some kind of puppet spell or something.
“I you are here then CONGRATULATIONS!” The owl thing continued on. “You have been auto- approved for one year free standard education. Should you wish to continue your education here please sea the guidance councilors office before the end of your term. I am Owlenna and I will be your guide, here to answer any questions. But first answer a few for us please, then we can start your orientation. What is your name?...”
The owl asked.
Unsure how to respond you quickly went with...
