As Erica continued her incantation, still shyly avoiding glancing at the naked man, James hoped that her spell would somehow miss him, but sure enough the light soon found his body and he instantly felt a strange tugging sensation just above his buttocks.
Turning his head James was horrified to witness himself sprouting a lengthy brown tail, resembling the kind normally belonging to a monkey, which grew to a couple of feet before curling at the end. Unsettlingly, James could feel it as a fully functioning part of his body and was able to manipulate it awkwardly but naturally. There was less giggling from the class this time, just looks of intrigue. James noticed one or two of the girls jotting down notes.
"Very good Erica" Elspeth praised her student who in turn nodded almost imperceptibly before escaping back to the safety of her seat. James waited for the old witch to remove his new appendage, but she didn't. Instead she turned back to the class and clasped her hands together as if making an announcement.
"You have all worked very hard this year and now I want to see the fruits of your labour" she smiled "Use James as your blank canvass. Transform him as much or little as you wish. Change his size, age, shape. Give hin the mind of an animal or make him a helpless inanimate object. I am intrigued to see what you can do and you can be assured that any spell you cast I can reverse without effort. Is that understood?"
"Yes Ma'am" the girls responded enthusiastically.
"Good, now who is next?"
