Daddy's Girl!

added 3 years ago O

Of course, Samantha made a few more wishes. Mostly to give her Mom better health, increase her chances of a healthy pregnancy, and making the birth go as easily as possible. The Spirit explained that he/she/it had been the one to ensure she survived the consequences of her unbirth, though the choice of mother hadn't been entirely informed (ideally he'd have chosen a woman, not a young teen, but these decisions had to be made in nanoseconds).

Indeed, it was technically cheating, since it required pretty loose interpretation of Samantha's desires, as did moving the ring itself into a 'space between spaces', and granting Samantha some measure of sentience, awareness, and control over Chelsea to ensure she could once again be born.

Samantha was surprised she was re-named Samantha. Apparently, in this new world, the original Samantha had died in an accident, and Chelsea chose the name in her memory. 'In my memory, how weird!' Sam thought to herself.

Being an infant sucked, but she made the best of it, by trying to be very good, and not making much fuss. It wasn't easy, with being dependent on her parents for everything, and she definitely didn't like the experience of being trapped in a messy diaper for any length of time. She had the spirit to talk to, at least.

She'd thought about making a wish to let herself be understood by her parents, but a talking baby would be too much. Still, since she retained her adult mind, she was able to talk coherently in record time, though she tried not to push it- she was already considered a 'miracle' baby.

True to it's word, the spirit made sure her new family wanted for nothing, and she eventually learned her father's name, Elena. Elena turned out to be an odd, but cool older teen. She wore black, liked dark and spooky things, and had a fascination with the occult. She was very sarcastic and could be quite abrasive, but she had a caring nature, and she and Chelsea were so totally in love that it was almost nauseating.

She hated the sun, and had dark hair, alabaster skin, and very green eyes. She was very cute, very intelligent, and only had one problem- she was short.

And by short, we mean really short. Through some quirk of genetics, Elena was only 4' 9" tall. Chelsea herself would have a full adult height of 5' 3", which meant that it was unlikely that Samantha (or 'Sammy', as her parents called her) was going to be very tall in her new life.

Elena fancied herself a writer, and turned out to have some talent for it, while Chelsea finished school and was determined to make it through college, baby on board and all. Time passed, and soon Sammy realized she was old enough to go to school.

'I really wish...' She stopped herself. 'What I mean is, it would be nice if I didn't have to go to school again, but I guess I'm stuck for it.'

SO IT WOULD SEEM, MY MISTRESS.

'I know you're always with me, but it'd be nice if you could physically be there with me.' Over time, the spirit had become her closest friend. It's name was impossible to describe, and it had no real gender, so she'd decided on 'Wren', a unisex name she saw in a book. And it sounded a little like 'ring', so there was that.

Wren had been around for thousands of years, if not longer, and it claimed to have been born from fire and air. It had great power, but it hadn't been kind to other living creatures. Eventually, a wise man trapped Wren in the ring- and Wren admitted this was a very good thing. When Sammy had offered to free the spirit, it declined.

I HAVE GAINED SOME WISDOM, BUT I FEAR NOT ENOUGH COMPASSION. IF FREED, I WOULD NO DOUBT RETURN TO MY OLD WAYS AND CAUSE GREAT MISCHIEF. BETTER I REMAIN YOUR SERVANT...YOUR FRIEND, THAN THAT. YOU TREAT ME WITH RESPECT, MISTRESS, AND IF I COULD KNOW LOVE AS YOU DO, I WOULD LOVE YOU. INSTEAD YOU HAVE MY RESPECT AND LOYALTY.

Wren was silent for a bit, upon hearing Sammy's desire. YOU COULD COMMAND ME TO TAKE ON A PHYSICAL FORM, AND THEN I COULD ACCOMPANY YOU TO YOUR SCHOOL.

"Oh wow, what a great idea!" Sammy couldn't help herself, and said that aloud.

"What's that, Sammy?" Elena called from her den, the place where she did her writing (though, to be granted, most of the time she procrastinated, and had problems meeting any sort of deadline).

"Nothing, Momma Lena!" Despite being technically her father, Sammy had been raised to call both of her parents Mommy. It was Mommy Lena and Mommy Chels.

"Nothing's always something!" Elena said that a lot, but she rarely bothered to investigate, trusting her child's uncommon good sense.

'Almost blew it. So what kind of form do you want?'

THAT IS UP TO YOU, MY MISTRESS.

'Hmm, let's see, I think you should be...'
