Hysteria can be really annoying, especially with pandemics. Not only would it blow things way out of proportion with the real facts, but it would also cause all kinds of irrational restrictions to stop, or at least slow the spread of said pandemics. But with the Coronavirus, things were either being blown out of proportion and/or being justified. But Animalia was refusing to be bullied into following along with all of the restrictions, though there were some that were followed just enough to get the media to leave them alone.

While there were still plans to view/travel to new places/discoveries in the Animalia colonies, all travels during spring break were "rescheduled until further notice". While they weren't canceled outright, they wouldn't be taking place during spring break. This was not only to comply with current travel restrictions, but also because no one really knew how long the pandemic would last.

While college classes were being transferred to solely cyber classes, and most college students going home, that didn't mean that everyone would be taking annoyance at it. There were those in Animalia who had bondmates who either didn't go to the same college or didn't live on campus, and they fully intended to spend "make-up time" with them. While some of this was to be expected, Spring fever was in full effect and protection laws were expected to be fully followed, as well as quarantine laws.
---
An unintended side effect of the new travel restrictions was the unintentional "pinning" of tourists at some of Animalia's colonies. While they wouldn't be able to return home from vacation/break, those who were working were allowed extended vacation time. While there were some downsides to this, there were those who only saw the positive sides to this, and it's safe to assume that not all of them were PG-rated.

Miss Greenwall was encountering an unexpected boom in her business because one of her herbal mixtures had an unexpected ability to keep Coronavirus symptoms in check long enough for people to recover from them. Because of that, there were large groups of people swarming Wiccan's Woods for the medicine, and when it ran out, pre-orders were coming in like crazy while she made more of it. Of course there were those who were planning to copy the recipe but there were at least two problems that was dramatized in a Saturday Night Live skit. First of all was the infamous warning that the grimoire where the recipe was held was cursed, as well as the fact that the recipe was completely written in the Theban alphabet, which was (mainly) only understood by true practitioners of witchcraft, much to the chagrin of medical science.

While WSA wasn't completely closing down, the elementary school did shut down for the more vulnerable members of Animalia, specifically the younger members. In the middle and high school sections, there were posters reminding everyone that the best way to defeat the Coronavirus was to wash their hands (much to the surprise of a lot of people), as well as other ways of limiting the spread. There were also fliers going around talking about how to spot people trying to scam them in the name of combating the Coronavirus (panic-profiteering much?)
