"I wish this was magical" said Regina "Then Aziza and I could take care of it. But it's perfectly natural, so we're stuck inside for however long, unless you want to visit a different universe. Can't do that until we're cleared, though. Carrying plague organisms between universes is a real no-no." She leaned down to scratch Sheena's ears, and the dragon gave a contented sigh.
Regina's girlfriend Jenna Negrotti sighed. It turned out being the main squeeze of one of Earth's two sorceresses supreme wasn't a free ticket out of shelter-in-place.

Savannah was cleaning up some paperwork as field operations were shut down except for the direst emergencies. "Hey Katerina, remember that woman who was trying to summon demons from her house with those weirdo friends?"
"Yes, Ophelia Thorfinnson."
"We ever find out what happened to her? I remember you thought she had been taken out by the 'Sorceress Supreme.'" Katerina believed in the Sorceress Supreme, while Savannah thought it was a comic book concept with no connection to actual reality.
Katerina snorted. "I perform divination to determine ultimate fate. Suffice it to say fondest stupid wish--to be male again--was granted."

Millie took little Paloma, named after her grandmother, in her arms. Paloma was a handful sometimes, but Millie loved being a mother. Her whole male lifespan seemed unreal to her now. She missed teaching in a classroom, but going to virtual instruction for a while because of the shutdown was OK if it meant spending more time with her daughter. Tonight she would talk to her wife about having another baby. Even though it was Juliana's turn, Millie thought she might carry the next one herself as well. Silently she thanked the goddess for her child.

Goddess, President Rodham thought, post-Great Change world leaders are an amazingly hot bunch, even in a virtual meeting. The Chancellor of Germany, a fabulous raven-haired Valkyrie, was discussing the recent research by scientists in her country to find an antidote to the plague. The world's female leadership had acted promptly to contain the evil little virus, but there was still a long way to go, and several hundred dead. Getting rid of men hadn't gotten rid of all the world's problems, just made them somewhat easier to deal with. With horror she briefly imagined Drumpf dealing with the virus.
