"I have some friends coming over for dinner tonight" Elspeth began onimously "It would be a great help if you would serve as our waiter. All you will need to do is bring things through to us from the kitchen when I ask. A simple enough task, though I would advise you to be as curteous and responsive as possible at all times. Some of my friends aren't as forgiving as I am and you'd do well not to displease them"
"Do I have to serve them like this?" James gestured nervously to indicate his naked body.
"Of course, that's the whole point dear" Elspeth answered somewhat incredulously "now go and wait in the kitchen until I call for you"
For the next half hour or so, James waited nervously in Elspeth's generously sized kitchen. Judging by the contents of the table in the middle of the room it was going to be a long and alcohol fuelled evening. Being stuck as a naked waiter atound a bunch of drunken witches didn't appeal to him at all, but try as he might he was unable to find any possible way of escaping from this place.
After a while James could hear the muffled sound of an increasing number of voices from the next room as Elspeth welcomed her guest. Then came the inevitable call he had been dreading.
"James dear, come out here a moment" Elspeth requested in a shrill tone. Not seeing any other option, James walked into the dining room.
He was most immediately struck by the number of guests, probably around a dozen, which was more than he had expected. From what he could tell they ranged in age from early thirties to elderley, with some being strikingly attractive and others menacing looking old crones. Their reactions to him varied as well - a couple of them smiled politely, a couple of them smiled more sinisterly, one or two quite unapologetically checked out his body while some of the others seemed to act as if they hadn't noticed him at all, and he felt sure one of the old crones was glaring dissaprovingly at him. It was a lot to take in.
"This is James, the young man I was telling you sbout" Elspeth explained by way of an introduction "James, be a dear and fetch us some wine will you?"
