"This ought to make fleeing rather difficult for you" Elspeth pointed at James, who was immediately replaced by a small, docile looking snail. The witch picked the helpless mollusc up from the floor and addressed it with a mixture of sympathy and admonishment.
"I would very much like us to be friends James" she sighed "but you would do well to learn not to disobey me, or I shall have to resort to this kind of punishment"
She placed the unfortunate, transformed creature onto the window sill.
"I have a few errands to run. I will leave you to considet your future conduct while I'm away. I trust you won"t go very far in the time I'm away"
As Elspeth left James sat helplessly with numerous unpleasant thoughts swirling around in his still human mind. A real life witch had transformed him and now he was so small, so vulnerable, practically immobile and completely unable to communicate. All he could do was sit and wait hope was that Elspeth returned and released him from her spell soon.
