Deanna took a frustrated breath then sighed. Suddenly her demeanor appeared to become far more forgiving.
"I'm sorry, I shouldn't be snapping at you" she walked over to James and ran her hand through his hair affectionately 'It's sweet that you have compassion for our test subjects. Maybe we can convince the Directors to let Subject N....Nicola...go after this test is complete"
James nodded thankfully.
"Now I think you should take a break, you've been down here all day so take ten minutes to get some fresh air. I can handle things here"
James hesitated a moment, he really wasn't sure he should be leaving Nicola now.
"That was an order James" Deanna leaned in and kissed him reassuringly "I got this"
"I know you have, thanks Deanna" James smiled weakly. It was definitely better she took control of things anyway seeing as he secretly had no idea what he was doing.
Once the lab assistant was safely left alone, Deanna's innocent expression quickly changed to a wicked smirk and she approached the glass box that Nicola's numerous particles were still swirling around in.
"So Subject N, you think it's a cute idea to flutter your eyelashes at my man so you can get an easy ride and an early release? We'll see about that" Deanna snarled "Now lets haveca look, what were you going to be?"
Deanna pushed a few buttons on the attached console and laughed.
"A kitten? Cute!" She exclaimed sardonically "I guess maybe he is soft on you. But I have a better idea"
A wicked grin played on Deanna's lips as she began to quickly input something into the keyboard. She had been taught well, and was more than capable of making her perceived love rival anything she wanted.
"There" she smiled with satisfaction as she completed her dastardly code "You won't be so cute and adorable now. Oh, and I've randomly selected the results of this experiment for extra observation by the Directors post transformation. That means you get to spend at least a whole week as a....well, I won't spoil the surprise. You'll find out soon enough"
Deanna strolled casually back to the desk she had been perched on before and took a seat. Her work here was done.
