Jared enjoyed slipping under Jasper's mind. He could forget about all his worries, stresses and cares and just enjoy being alive. He could enjoy running and eating and being hosed down. No part of Jared disappeared when Jasper was in control. Jared could still do his homework if he wanted to. He just didn't want to when he was Jasper. Likewise, Jared didn't enjoy everything Jasper did but Jared felt how much Jasper enjoyed it and in that way Jared enjoyed it too. For example, Jared didn't like the taste of grass, hay, or alfalfa but Jasper loved the taste and thus, when Jared was Jasper, Jared loved the taste too. Even when he was human and sitting in a boring class, he was starting to remember and enjoy more and more about what it was like to be Jasper the horse.
At lunch he sat with Eric and Carl. Carl asked, "We were wondering if it would be okay to take Jasper camping with us."
Jared said, "I'm already going camping with you."
Carl said, "No, no, no, listen. We were wondering if it would be okay to take Jasper with us. We can only hike so far but if we had Jasper, we could ride him much further. There is a wonderful campsite I know of that is far from other people. We would probably have the entire campsite to ourselves if we could reach it."
Jared thought about it and remembered that Jasper enjoyed being ridden, sort of. He didn't enjoy being ridden but he enjoyed being able to walk long distance and he barely noticed the weight of whoever was riding him. It was a lot like the joy of hiking, the weight of the riders feeling about equal to the weight of the backpack, except Jasper got to see a lot more scenery than Jared did.
Jared said, "Yes. When I decide to be human, I'll reach for the medallion but I would love to take Jasper on our camping trip."

So Eric, Carl and three packs were on Jasper as Jasper carried them away from civilization. They didn't bring their electronics because they knew their electronics wouldn't have service out there. They did bring three electronic games that worked offline, just in case they got bored, but they knew they'd enjoy swimming, running, and playing and they would especially enjoy not having any nosy neighbors to deal with. In fact, the further they got from civilization, the more Eric and Carl stripped down. When they got to camp, Eric and Carl finished getting naked except for their shoes. They put sunblock and insect repellant on each other and they were good to go.
They then turned to Jasper to see if he wanted to be human but Jasper found a delicious field of alfalfa which was much better than anything at home. Jared even thought, "It's like the difference between having steak and having hamburger. This is so good."
So Eric and Carl decided to just let Jasper enjoy himself. As Eric and Carl played, they became sexual. This was the first time that Eric and Carl had been truly alone together where they didn't have to sneak around. They started making love.
Jasper noticed and remembered how much he enjoyed Eric's help getting a sperm sample. Jasper didn't care whether Eric was female or not. It felt good and that's all Jasper cared. Thus that was all Jared cared. Jared did feel that internal struggle about his relationship to Eric and his relationship to Rachel but while being Jasper, that internal struggle was a faint whisper.
Jasper moved toward the romantic couple and began to nuzzle with them, participating in the affection.
