Shannon went down back to the kitchen. Jeff and her mom sat there. On the surface, everything was the same. However, Shannon sensed a difference. She felt a bond between herself and Jeff. It was so strong. It couldn't be her imagination. This was pure unbridled love, distinct from the crush she'd had before. She wondered if Jeff felt similar. The two joined in a divine marriage, supposedly more powerful than normal marriages. How would it affect their emotions?
Shannon realized that Jeff was now her husband. It meant she could do something she'd wanted to do for so long. She walked right up and kissed him. He was tense at first, being caught off guard, then he became relaxed. Shannon loved the feel of his lips, the taste of his mouth. A tender moment passed. She released it, her first kiss with Jeff. Well, the first one she experienced. With what she'd entered into the Chronivac, their past should contain several amorous experiences, even an instance of sex. She'd even made it so she'd gotten pregnant from their encounter. Her heart fluttered at the thought.
Shannon patted her flat stomach. Just a day. More time would have to pass for her to notice anything different. However, she'd made it so Mom were two months on the way. She turned to look at her. Her stomach didn't seem to bulge out yet, or at least not enough to be visible through clothes. Shannon's stare didn't go unnoticed.
"Shannon, are you looking forward to getting a new sibling?" Jennifer asked, her hand resting on her stomach.
"Yes. Maybe I am, um, also." Shannon mumbled.
"Well, who knows? You might already be pregnant yourself." Jennifer smiled. "In a divine marriage, just one night is enough."
Hearing her mom mention their marriage, it filled Shannon with joy. She was curious and excited to explore what this new kind of marriage entailed. Most of all, she was excited to be with Jeff. Being his lover, his wife, is everything she'd wanted.
"Darling." Jennifer cooed, moving towards Jeff. "You can play around with your new wife, but don't you forget about me."
Jennifer went and kissed him. Shannon couldn't help but feel a pang of jealousy. Their kiss seemed so loving, so intense. She didn't know if she could match up against her own mother, Jeff's original wife. She wondered if she instead should have taken Jeff all for herself.
Shannon thought of the past, back to her mother's divorce, how both she and Mom had been miserable. That is until Jeff married Mom. Even though they were classmates, he had been so fatherly and caring towards her, filling the void left by her father and so much more. She treasured Jeff as her stepfather. She didn't want to lose Jeff as her father. She wanted to keep that connection. Also, taking Jeff away from Mom would make her unhappy again. She didn't want that. Sharing Jeff should be best for both of the O'Brian's happiness.
Shannon saw that Mom and Jeff were still making out. It seemed to be escalating, hands aggressively groping. At least they still wore clothes. She felt left out. She hesitantly moved towards them.
Jennifer grabbed Shannon's hand, pulling her to them. Shannon was pressed up against both Jeff and Mom. It felt a little bit awkward. Could she kiss and get personal with Jeff like this?
"Don't be shy!" Jennifer encouraged her.
"Um, Jeff." Shannon looked directly at him. "Are you okay with this?"
"Okay with this? Of course I am." he replied. "I love you, both of you, but Shannon, remember I just want you to be true to your feelings. You should only do what you yourself want."
"Oh Jeff." she swooned.
She hugged him. She helm him tightly, keeping it for more than a full minute.
She released her hug. Mom was no longer next to them. She turned around. She could see plates with egg and bacon on the kitchen table. Breakfast, she'd forgotten all about it. Mom was already eating. She gestured for them to eat, seeing that they were done hugging.
Shannon wondered to herself if Mom was dissatisfied. She had kind of deescalated all the sexual tension, her going all emotional, hugging Jeff. At some point, she could see herself being ready for a threesome or stranger stuff, but not yet. She wasn't as wild as her mom. For now she just wanted a private moment with her husband. She ate another piece of bacon. She wondered, once when they were done with breakfast, if she should invite Jeff to her room.
