You look at your housing slip, and then at the school directory. The slip says you're assigned to room S23, but none of the rooms on the map are labelled as such. You stop an upper classman, and ask him. He grabs your registration slip, looks at it and grins.
"Follow me," he says, and you do. He tells you his name is Robbie as he leads you out of the main building and on a gravel path that you thought from the map lead to athletic buildings and not housing.
Another upperclassman stops Robbie, and says, "Dude, sorry to hear that your father wouldn't replace your Nightshade. Listen you can borrow my roan, when I'm not using it."
"Thanks for the offer, Lem, but I've got things in motion. I'll be back in the saddle in no time. Now, I gotta get going, I'm taking this lad to his new home."
"Robbie, we got proctors to do that! Oh, well later," and the unruly blond haired Lem vanishes up the steps into the Stonewood Dorm.
"I didn't think there were any dorms out this way?" you say as you walk passed the gym and toward the tree shrouded stables.
"Not all housing is in the dorms," Robbie says succinctly. You and he enter the stables and walk down a straw covered earthen floor. There is a staircase at the far end of the passage. Great stallions and mares are in the stalls on either side of you.
"Oh, S stands for Stables? I am in a room above the stables?"
"Not exactly," Robbie says stopping in front of Stall 23, He opens the gate and motions for you to enter.
You stare a him like he's mad, but you enter the empty stall. Robbie raises his wand, which he had had up his sleeve and suddenly your clothing is terribly tight.
Your buttons start to pop as your flesh expands. You fall forward on to your hands. You joints ache as you experience a strange growth spurt. You blush as your clothing rips and leaves you naked on the stable floor. All the while Robbie's smile is growing larger and larger. Tiny chestnut colored hairs are covering your skin as your clothing lays in shreds on the floor of the stall.
Your vision starts to change the colors seem muted, and finally your world vision is shifted to monochrome.
Robbie laughs, "Your new home is Stall 23, but for future reference the S in your room assignment stands for Subbasement of the Main building. Most freshmen are housed there. I'll stop by the registrars office to make the changes to your course schedule. It was so good of you to volunteer to be on the polo team. Hahaha!"
