Another manager walks by Aaron.
“Oh, morning Greg” Aaron greets, but Greg doesn’t seem interested “There’s a meeting soon, go make yourself useful and fetch some coffees.”
Greg then paces away, leaving an rather more annoyed Aaron. Greg could be rude but this was a whole new level, and he was a manager not a intern,
Shaking his head and trying to hide his scowl, Aaron nonetheless obliges. Greg is slightly above him in the corporate hierarchy, and Aaron didn’t survive this long by causing needless trouble with higher ups.
He tells one of his employees, Ted, to keep seems under control until he gets back. Ted doesn’t seem to pay attention but does soon head off to tell someone to get back to work so Aaron decides he’ll be fine.
The elevators are down suddenly for some reason, meaning Aaron has to resort to heading down the stairs “dammit..” he mutters, but despite his concerns the walk down is surprisenly energising, his belly almost fills smaller by the time he gets to the ground levels.
Walking outside his legs grow slightly leaner as he finds the trip easier. He heads down across the road to the neighbouring coffee shop which is bustling with customers.
Waiting in line he starches his limbs, he hadn’t felt this good in ages. His hands seemed almost slimmer but that couldn’t be the case.
Whatever it was, he didn’t have time to ponder it was soon it was his turn to order.
He relays what the other managers usually order. He doesn’t exactly know how he knows who’ll be at the meeting or what coffee they all like, but he shrugs it off. He’s probably been to enough meetings to make a guess.
“They must be running you interns ragged up there” the barista chimes in, causing Aaron to raise his hands to correct her “Uh Actually I’m not a-“ but before he can finish his order comes up. After making sure he’s paid he heads off. He doesn’t know how that barista mistook him for an intern, he suppose so she’s not used to managers picking up their own damn coffee.
Whatever the case it didn’t matter. He better head before Mr Nygun... we Greg, got inpatient.
