As Merlin talked with the others, Yuriko found herself in the back office. Looking at her godparents she could see they both appeared to be doing well.
"So is everything okay," Yuriko asked. "Wasnt expecting to see you two again."
"We needed to come see you while we could," Mia said hugging the young teen.
"What do you mean while you still could," Yuriko asked slightly alarmed. "Does something happen to you two?"
"No we'll be okay," Zack said softly. "But when the timelines merge we wont be able to travel back in time. That is until you find us."
"What does that mean," Yuriko exclaimed, obviously confused.
Mia smiled, brushing a stray hair from the teenage girls face. "This is where things get weird," she said. "You see, we kind if changed the future. Not enough to stop what's going to happen but enough that we wont have to worry about Akira anymore."
"That's a good thing right," Yuriko asked. Mia and Zacj looked at eachother, a sheepish look on their face. "Not as well as I would have thought," Mia replied sheepishly. "But we dont want you to worry."
Yuriko have the two a dubious look, sighing in annoyance. "Okay listen close," Zack said quickly before the teen could respond. "When the timelines merge your going to have to suggest that the kids be kept somewhere safe."
"What place could possibly be safe," Yuriko exclaimed.
"How about the homes of the other magical families," Mia stated. "After everything Kellie does the other families are willing to take in the children and protect them. At least while things are so chaotic over here."
"It has the added effect of allowing your brother, cousin, Lynne, and the others to travel back in time as well."
"Wait Lynne and the others are coming here too," Yuriko stated, to which Mia and Zack nodded. "Trust us your going to need them," Zsck said.
"We also figured out why you were sent back Yuki," Mia said softly. "You see when the three of us go missing you're technically not safe, meaning you wouldnt be able to travel back in time because your future will be in flux."
"It also means our future is in flux," Mia grumbled. "That's why you need to be careful and protect our younger selves. We may know what's going to happen but the future is still in flux. Theres a small chance we could get erased if our younger selves die."
Yuriko shivered, knowing that all three of their existences hinged on her finding and protecting their past versions. Seeing the teens discomfort, Mia and Zack approached hugging the girl tightly.
"Your going to do fine," Mia smiled. "Remember we kind of lived through this already."
"Just stay safe okay Yuki," Zack whispered hugging the girl tightly. "Oh and as far as Akira goes? Dont worry about him, he'll help you out in the end."
Yuriko nodded, hugging her godparents tightly. Things were a out to get worse before they got better.
