Today was an average day in Hammerlock city. The sun was starting to rise over the vast sea of buildings, the residents starting to wake up to the bright ball coming up from the atmosphere, and the city just starting to become alive and animate. In a certain home, a boy by the name of Brent was just starting to wake up to the sound of his alarm. He had set it to ring early in the morning. He at first, with his mind still in sleep mode, was going to hit the snooze button on it to set it 5 minutes ahead. That was, until he realized that today was a special day for him. He immediately sat up from his bed. He quickly got up, got dressed, and went downstairs to see his mom had made herself a cup of coffee. His mom was surprised to see him up this early, since he had usually got up later than this. "What are you doing up this early?" She asked him. He walked downstairs, trying to contain his excitement, and looked at his mom. "I'm just getting ready to go meet up with friends." He said. His mom was surprised and suspicious about his answer, since it seemed a little too early to be outside. "Where are you going?" She asked him, with a hint of suspicion in her voice. He knew he had to think up of an excuse to tell her, and fast. So he eventually came up with, "Just going over to the pokémon centre." Her suspicion dwindled a little, and she guessed that if he was going to a public place with friends, then it would be alright. So she made him breakfast, and after he finished eating, watched him go out the front door with backpack towing on his back. After Brent left the house, he immediately left to his real destination. Lake Outrage. He had heard of some epic water pokémon's being spotted there, and decided to try and snag one himself. He brought a pokeball with him that he bought at the pokécentre a while back, and was keen on catching one. Plus, the lake wasn't far from the city, so he figured he could make it there and back with no problem. After a while, he eventually made it to the lake no problem. He decided he would wait behind a tree and see if he could catch any movement at all. Sure enough, after a little bit, he caught a figure in his vision. It was a Vaporeon. He decided to approach it slowly, and catch it off guard. He started to sneak up on it, and was very close to catching it, when a twig snapped underneath his foot. He stopped dead centre, and watched as the pokémon slowely turned towards him. He tried to get out of there as fast as he could, but was suddenly his by a powerful wave of water, which sent him falling to the ground. He collected himself and turned to face the pokémon, but couldn't find it anywhere."Just great" he thought to himself. " First, I get attacked by a pokémon, and then, I also lose said pokémon. How much better could this day get?" He decided to wait and dry himself off before heading home. When he got home, his mother was just preparing lunch. The rest of the day went normally. Except when he went to take a shower. When he went in the shower, and turned on the water, he found the water to be a little bit more refreshing than usual. A bit more enjoyable. He was in a trance until he heard his mom knock on the door and tell him to get out. He did as he was told, and after he got changed, he went to bed. Right before he fell asleep, though, he decided he wanted to visit the lake again to see if he could capture a pokémon, this time with success.
