While Connor and Ryan discussed Connor’s introduction into the Were society and potential future together, Tad and Amy had gone back to Tad’s house to work on homework together. Tad was aware that Connor and Ryan had planned to meet after school again, but he decided that the two deserved a bit of alone time together. Besides, it had been also been a while since he had been alone with Amy since he had been so preoccupied with helping Connor settle into life in Moon Lake.
When the two teens arrived at the Decker household, Tad took off his shoes and called “Hey mom, I’m home.” He expected to receive a response, but none came.
“Maybe she didn’t hear you?” Amy suggested, taking off her shoes and setting them next to Tad’s. “Let’s just go to your room and start working on homework.”
As the two began to walk upstairs, the sounds of moaning and a shaking bed became audible to them. The two werewolves simply looked at each other in confusion before Amy realized where the sound was coming from: Jen’s bedroom. Understanding what was going on, Tad quietly led Amy into his room and shut the door behind him.
“I guess that’s why my mom didn’t hear me,” Tad said with a chuckle as he set down his backpack and sat down in the chair in front of his desk.
“It’s nice that she’s moving on,” Amy said, sitting down on Tad’s bed. “I know that we haven’t known each other for very long, but from what you told me, it sounded like your mom was really in need of some companionship.”
“I agree,” Tad said with a nod. “I’m really glad she met Claire. The two of them seem so happy together.”
“Especially right now,” Amy laughed as the two of them heard another moan come from across the hall. She then proceeded to reach down into her backpack, pulling out her physics textbook and notebook. “Think we should start with physics?”
Tad nodded in agreement, pulling out his own textbook and notebook. As he opened the book and began to flip through the pages, the sound of a shaking bed began to become louder; the moans increasing with it. He began to find it harder and harder to concentrate.
Tad turned to Amy and asked, “Hey, are you also having a hard time focusing?”
Amy nodded. “Only a little bit,” she admitted. “I know we only just opened our textbooks, but it’s kinda hard to start reading with all the noise your mom and Claire are making.”
“Yeah...but I can’t just go and ask them to stop,” Tad said. “Not only would that be really weird, but it also feels kind of wrong.”
“It should be better downstairs,” Amy said. “Why don’t we move down there?”
Tad nodded in agreement, picking up his things before leading Amy out of his room and back down the stairs. The two of them set their stuff down on the kitchen table and began to work again.
