Once again, they continued to walk, only for Laura to stop. Kaitlin groaned loudly.
“What now?” she demanded. Laura hunched over, squirming uncomfortably. “Do you have to pee again? We just went!”
“Not pee, poo,” Laura whispered. As if on cue, Kaitlin felt her own bowels churn. Unlike when she had to pee, however, she maintained control and managed to ignore it.
“Well, you can poop when we get to the magic shop,” Kaitlin said. “If I can hold it, you can hold it, too.” She took Laura’s hand and pulled her forward. Laura began to whimper. “Come on!” They moved on.
After a few minutes, however, Laura came to a sudden stop and pulled her hand from Kaitlin’s grasp. Kaitlin scoffed and turned around.
“What is it-” Her jaw dropped. Laura hadn’t been able to hold it in like Kaitlin, and was now squatting right in front of her, her face red from embarrassment and effort. Kaitlin quickly looked away to give her friend some semblance of privacy, but she could feel herself blushing with embarrassment as Laura grunted loudly. When the grunts had stopped, Kaitlin looked over again. Laura stood straight, her face beet red.
“Tol’ you!” Laura wailed. “Had to poo!” She sat heavily on the ground, narrowly missing her fresh pile of feces.
“I didn’t know that!” Kaitlin shot back. “I didn’t know you were really a baby!” Laura began to bawl loudly. Tears streamed down her face. Too late, Kaitlin realized her mistake. “I’m sorry, I’m sorry!” Kaitlin rushed over to try to calm her friend, but to no avail. Laura continued to sob.
