So a little idea that Josh had was a sick fantasy that came from his enjoyment of Pokemon. The mechanics of that game was intriguing and he always wanted to live in a world like that, but the idea alone wasn't enough. There was more that he could do to it.
Josh firstly set some new additions for the world. Josh used the book to create a new device called a pocket trainer. A tablet like device that could store a release monsters that the user has caught with it. Simple enough. Next came the bigger additions.
The monsters that the pocket trainer can store don't have to be actual monsters, any type of organism can be contained within the pocket trainer by beating it in a battle, this includes humans. The user of the pocket trainer can train the monsters they have caught by levelling them up and following different skill trees yo unlock new abilities.
Monsters that reach a certain level can evolve, or evolve via other means. Sometimes, two monsters that are compatible with each other are able to fuse together to create an entirely new monster. An example of this would be a human fusing with a gox to create a kitsune.
The mechanics of the pocket trainer also include two buttons, RELEASE and SUMMON. The release button releases the monster out into the wild, never to be seen again while the summon button just brings the monster to the real world. This can either be for battle or just to spend time with the monster.
When a new monster is caught, the trust between the user of the pocket trainer and the monster will be low. When the trust is low between the monster and user, the monster won't listen to the users commands. To improve the trust between the two, the user can perform activities such as playing, feeding or other activities with their monster. At max trust, the monster will listen to every command the user gives, and if the monster is partially human, the monster is willing to have intercourse with the user of the pocket trainer.
Through out the world, their are competitions that allow you to compete with your team of monsters. The prizes can be money and fame and many new celebrities have popped up due to being professional monster trainers.
Josh then wrote about himself as he wrote how he would be a professional monster trainer. His team would be 5 monsters; his mother, jane, a mermaid; his older sister Alexia a slime girl; his younger sister, Melissa, a catgirl; his German shepherd Dodo, now a Cerberus; and his dad, Axel, now a Cyclops. Josh won competitions using his family as monsters.
Josh decided to also write that the book would fill in the rest of the mechanics of the pocket trainer so he didn't have to write everything about the new world. He also left the book to fill in some other changes that he would not know until they happen. So Josh waited to see the new world.
