Samantha waved from the stands as she watched Mike take the field. "Wave to daddy Tricia," she sang, lifting her infant daughters hand. Mike couldnt help but smirk as he began warming up.
Pitchers and catchers were beginning to report for spring training and although Mike's chances of making the main roster were slim, the team saw him as a future starting pitcher by next year. The young couple now hoped that if things fell into place, Mike could be pitching in the majors very soon.
"What a beautiful baby."
Samantha turned, seeing one of the wives beaming down at her daughter. "Thanks," Samantha said happily.
The woman smiled scanning the field of players and noticing Mike on the pitcher's mound. "That your husband," she asked, to which Samantha nodded. "How long have you two been together."
"High school," Samantha blushed. "We just got married last spring."
"Aww high school sweethearts that's so cute," she sighed. "You dont see that too often anymore." Samantha could only smile shyly as the two women began to make small talk.

Casseus scanned the field carefully, hidden from view by the spell he cast. occupying Samantha and Mike was crucial in his plan. He was well aware of the power the young dragoness had and her penchant to help out. Motioning towards the squadron of Voids he signaled them to begin the attack.
Samantha jumped as a small explosion now detonated on the field, sending the players diving for cover. Focusing the young mother quickly scanned the field, breathing a sigh of relief at seeing her husband was okay. That relief quickly turned to terror though as she noticed about half a dozen Voids sprinting towards him.
Glancing around quickly, Samantha noticed most of the players wives were already gone. "Sorry baby," Samantha whispered to her daughter. "But you're going to have to come with me." Sprinting into a quiet area, Samantha quickly made sure she was by herself before kicking off her shoes. The dragoness still hadn't quite figured out how to change her clothes when she transformed and she was really getting tired of buying shoes all the time. Concentrating she now began to focus her magic.
Samantha's body began to grow, her muscles swelling as her feet extended into razor sharp talons. Samantha's nails sharpened while scales began to form along her limbs. Finally two large leathery wings sprung forth from her back along with a long purple reptilian tail. Roaring the dragoness now bent down picking up her tiny daughter. "Okay Tricia," she growled. "Let's go help daddy."
Mike anxiously gazed out at the group of Voids speeding towards him. While the other players had thankfully left the field, it now meant he was their only target. Looking down at the baseballs scattered around him, Mike picked one up focusing his magic. The baseball now began to transform, the white of the baseball becoming a metallic grey. Mike smirked as he eyeballed one of the Voids before firing off a pitch.
The sickening sound of bone shattering echoed through the field as the metallic baseball embedded itself into one of the Voids head. The Void swooned before falling to the ground, the remaining Voids howled with rage as they sprinted towards Mike.
The group of Voids never stood a chance as Samantha came crashing down upon them at sonic speeds. Leaving a sizable impact crater the dragoness roared before turning to face her husband. "Mike you okay?"
"I'm fine," he said as he ran to his wife's side before giving her a curious look. "You brought Tricia with you!"
Samantha gazed down at the baby Bjorn strapped to her chest before shrugging. "Well I couldnt just leave her by herself," she shrugged. Mike gave his wife a dubious look as they now faced down the remaining Voids. Before Mike could act, Samantha opened her mouth releasing a blast of energy that burned sizable holes into the charging Voids.
Samantha grinned, her face feral yet somehow sweet. As Mike was about to speak he gasped as a blast of magical energy collided with Samantha knocking her backwards.
Mike screamed in agony as he raced towards his wife and daughter. Skidding to a stop he now anxiously looked them over. Samantha was dazed but unhurt while baby Tricia simply looked up at her father cooing softly.
"So this is the infamous Davis family."
Mike spun, a grimace on his face as he stared down a silver haired man. "Son of a bitch," he screamed. "Shes holding a baby you bastard!"
"Pity," Casseus smirked. "I was aiming for the child. So much for eliminating the next generation of wizards."
"Who are you," Mike growled as Samantha slowly got to her feet.
"Casseus," he said with a bow. "My lord has charged me with eliminating you and your family."
"Over my dead body," Mike spat as he now cast a spell, transforming his body into organic steel. Casseus could only grin, conjuring a spear in his hand as the young family now moved in to attack.
