Despite Laura’s best efforts, her pacifier fails to soothe her. Frustration builds until she spits out the pacifier and throws herself onto the ground. She has a full-blown toddler tantrum, kicking the air and hitting the ground with her fists, screaming and crying. In the moment, Laura doesn’t care about who may see her having a meltdown. She only wants to vent her anger and frustration at the injustice of the world. After everything she’s been through, she’s three years old, locked away from her belongings, wearing a diaper.
In the midst of her tantrum, Laura’s bladder bursts without warning. Her diaper is filled with pee. The reminder that she can’t control her bladder anymore only serves to make her even more upset. Laura’s screams reach a new volume and pitch at her wet diaper.
Eventually, Laura wears herself out. All of her energy has been spent by the meltdown. She sits up, tears drying on her face. Her mouth drops open in horror, however, as she sees someone standing before her. Someone who witnessed her entire tantrum.
