"Can I be a genie like you?" Patrick asked his new mother with a totally innocent voice.
"A genie? Why?" Jeanie questioned. She didn't like the idea because she remembered her thousands of years as a slave granting wishes to selfish men. "Wouldn't you prefer to be stronger or bigger like any other kid?"
"I want to be magic like mommy! I want to be magic like mommy!" Patrick repeated over and over again until Jeanie got tired of him.
"Alright, alright. I'll do it. But I must warn you. With great power comes great responsibility. As a genie you must grant wishes to several masters until one of them sets you free." Jeanie told the kid. "You'll be immortal, so it could take thousands of years."
"Cool!! So I won't die? Never?"
"Technically yes..." Jeanie realized that Patrick was more eager to be a genie. "But you won't become older, you'll stay a kid forever."
"Awesome!! I like to be a kid!! Adults are weird and boring!!" Patrick was over excited. "Come mommy, make me a genie!!"
Jeanie knew that her son was determined to continue with this. So, she sighed and used her magic on him. Several golden sparks came from her hands and traveled to Patrick's wrists. They accumulated there until they materialized two thick golden cuffs and a golden lamp on his hands.
"Done! You're a genie now!" Jeanie said without enthusiasm.
"Really? I don't feel any different." Patrick said as he stared at his new cuffs and lamp. "What are these?"
"Those cuffs are attached to you forever, you can't take them out until you'll be free again." Jeanie seemed a little sad. "That lamp is your new home and for your masters. You'll grant wishes to whoever has it."
"So... Can you take it?" Patrick said as he gave his lamp to Jeanie. "I want you to be my master."
Jeanie smiled and extended her arms to take the lamp. But before she took it, ahe heard a voice calling for Patrick. It was his real mother who was looking for him after he got missed in the supermarket.
"I thought your parents abandoned you." Jeanie told the kid.
"Yes, she abandoned me when I was looking for some toys." Patrick replied. "She didn't want to buy me a dinosaur!"
"So, you're not a poor little kid but a bratty one!!" Jeanie realized but before ahe could say any other word, Patrick's mother arrived and took her son by his arm. He didn't have a chance to say good bye to Jeanie who immediately regret the mistake she had made. "Oh no. I turned that kid into a genie! I must watch him." She became invisible and followed Patrick and his mother.
