Instead of Ashley, her younger sister Hailey answered the door. Hailey was a blonde tween girl, looking like a younger clone of Ashley. She also idolized her sister, wanting to imitate her in all aspects. Carmen found her irritating. She thought Hailey rather ought to figure out her own personality.
"Uh, hey Carmen." Hailey greeted, seeming a little cautious.
"Hey Hailey." Carmen greeted back, a fake smile on her face. "Is Ashley home?"
"She is, but I heard that, um, you guys aren't that good friends anymore."
Before Carmen could defend herself, they heard muffled baby sounds. Carmen's car was parked right next to them, and through its window, they could see little Will. He was bouncing about in his car seat, while continuously wailing. Meanwhile, little Lola was somehow sleeping through this. Carmen was annoyed, though Hailey had a different reaction.
"Omigod! He's so cute! She's also cute! Are they twins?" Hailey gushed. "If you want to stay over, I can like watch them! I am totally great with babies! You know, my cousin, who is barely five months, I've watched him, and I've even changed his diapers! You can trust me to play with them!"
Carmen was a little taken aback by Hailey's enthusiasm, though she didn't mind. She thought it would be nice. It would allow Carmen to have her undivided attention on using the app on Ashley. Also, Will was so energetic. Maybe he'd lose some of that extra energy if he played with Hailey.
Carmen opened the car door and unbuckled Will from his car seat. She let Lola continue to sleep. No reason to disturb her. Will instantly seemed to calm down a little as he was picked up. She handed him over to Hailey, absolutely delighting her. Hailey broadly smiled at Will, and Will, he looked almost a little afraid. Well, he should manage.
"Oh, and Hailey, try to not disturb me and Ashley."
"Uh, okay." she replied while making silly grimaces at Will.
Carmen left Hailey and Will. She walked upstairs, clenching her phone. There was Ashley's room. She slowly peeked over Ashley's door frame. She was sitting there, on her bed, listening to music, drawing in her sketchbook. Ashley seemed pretty distracted. She hadn't even noticed Carmen. spying at her. Carmen smiled. This was lucky. She could leisurely play around with changing Ashley. She was looking forward to this. She opened the app and selected Ashley. She got a sentence to edit.
"The pretty 22 year old blonde is drawing."
Carmen figured she could start with a relatively small change before she ramped up to the more life-ruining ones. Better to take it slow and enjoy this. Let's see, after being made fun of for gaining weight, Carmen knew where she should begin. She exchanged the word "pretty" with "chubby" and pressed apply. Now to see the effects.
Ashley was still drawing. She was doing the exact same thing, but her body was different. Thicker arms, fatty thighs, and while it was hard to spot at this angle, it looked like she had a little gut peeking from under white tank top. "Who's gained weight now?" Carmen snickered.
Though, Carmen was far from satisfied. Another change was in order. She wondered what could be a fitting one.
