Will hesitated for some seconds, then he decided to use the app. He attempted to generate a new sentence. However, he was interrupted. Henrietta grabbed the phone out of his hand, leaving him standing there dumbfounded. Carmen cursed at how bloody useless Will was.
Henrietta inspected it. It was indeed her mother's phone. Also, she saw there was an app open, not one she recognized. Had these kids downloaded it? Her mom wasn't the type of person to download things like this.
"Don't touch that app!" Carmen screamed at Henrietta.
Henrietta ignored Carmen's plea. She continued trying to discover what kind of app this was. Henrietta ended up targeting Carmen, generating a new sentence. "The bitchy 22 year old redhead wants to steal the phone back."
Henrietta wondered how the sentence was created. Had that girl had written? If so, it seemed like something strange to write. Tapping on the sentence, she noticed each word could be edited.
"Stop!" Carmen ran towards Henrietta and Jen. She had to stop them. She couldn't risk them messing with her. Meanwhile, Will was standing right next to them, though he was still too overwhelmed to act.
As Carmen was mid run, Henrietta made an edit. "22" was changed into "2". Carmen was changed. She was still running, but with much shorter legs.
Henrietta looked up to see that the red haired girl was gone. She must have ran away, she thought. Henrietta did however see a new person. A toddler girl was rapidly approaching. Wild red hair made her easy to spot. An angry expression was on her childish face.
"Give phone!" littlr Carmen piped as she arrived at Henrietta's legs. She began jumping, hopelessly and adorably grasping for the phone.
Jen slowly bent down to the angry Carmen and patted her head. "Thank you young lady for finding my phone."
"No!" Carmen cried. "Give magic phone!"
Jen smiled and snorted at Carmen's statement. "A magic phone you say? My girl, such a great imagination you have ."
Little Carmen turned around and tugged at her big brother's shirt. "Will! Take phone!" Will glanced at the phone with shifty eyes. While he thought Carmen being his two year sister was normal, he still remembered the app's capabilities. Though he didn't know what do. He could probably physically overpower a middle aged and an elderly womam, but he couldn't do that in a crowded mall.
Henrietta struggled to understand what was happening. Why was her mother praising this toddler for finding the phone? Wasn't it the older girl that had stolen it? She wondered if Mom actually was becoming senile. Well, the little girl thought she had found the phone too. It did in a way feel like the older girl had been replaced with this toddler. Henrietta remembered the app. She had edited "22" to "2". That eerily fit with what had happened. Was this because of the app? No, that couldn't be the case. Probably a strange coincidence.
