Mother's Day in Animalia was a bit "calmer" or "slower", depending on your definition, due in no small part to the pandemic going on. But that didn't mean that things had completely halted, and this was especially true in Animalia and its colonies. There was the occasional news story featuring Animalian mothers, but these were more along those who were already born. But there was the occasional story about mothers-to-be that blew the minds of everyone who read or watched it.
One such story was not only about Beacon and Allura's new "spawnlings", but was also the official announcement that Beacon was having quadruplets. The report not contained confirmation, but also the ultrasound that showed the four "spawnlings" developing inside Beacon. It also showed Beacon's dad fainting at the news at the doctor's office where the ultrasound took place, and that alone was considered extremely funny.
There was also a news story on a video taken on Mieni Atoll of Ran and Gaz with their four shark pups. The video made it clear from the start that this was the four pups first time in Mieni Atoll, but afterward continued as a kind of nature documentary of the Luminous Reef and the unusual life that could be found there. There were a few funny things that surfaced from time to time, such as Mira encountering an (not Blue-Ringed) octopus for the first time as well as one of the rules for it and similar creatures: get too close, get a face full of ink.
There was also another story that was also quite hilarious, in a 'karmic retribution' kind of way. It was another story about being confirmed with having quadruplets, but this time it was Fleur and Steven Blair. As it turned out, they were halfway through planning their wedding (much to the chagrin of Steven's family) when the first signs of pregnancy began to hit Fleur. While the wedding was a bit more private, for both their preferences, it was during their honeymoon on Mieni Atoll (this was before travel restrictions were put into place) when the pregnancy signs began hitting Fleur hard. It was there that the confirmation that she was having quadruplets hit her hard. But what was clearly the best 'karmic retribution' was Sophie's reaction to the news... by laughing so hard she had fallen over. The icing on the cake was when Sophie's skunk kits seemingly joining in without knowing what their mother was laughing about.

There was also a lot of internet excitement going on because there was the first public showing of the first Perry Platypus movie. While there was a special website that many could, and did, go to to watch the official release, there was also semi-private showings for certain groups at various movie theaters, as long as social distancing rules were followed. The overall opinion was that, despite some plot points being "cliché", "overused", "hackneyed", etc., the idea of a platypus Animalian being a secret agent while also being capable of fighting off a large group of bad guys with a karambit knife and MMA was more than unique enough to make up for the overused plot points. But what was probably the most surprising was that one of the studios behind the first Perry Platypus movie was none other than Disney itself.

While things were starting to move again, whether slowly or quickly, it would still be a while before things go back to normal. But there were still some things that were relatively immune to the pandemic, such as Mother's Day.
