Laura wakes up the next day. Relieved, she realizes that she is completely dry. Confident she doesn’t need any sort of protection, she removes the pull-ups and puts on regular underwear. She gets dressed in some more boyish clothes from her niece and beams at her reflection. She looks like a regular kindergartener or even first grader.
As it seems she has not regressed as much as she originally thought, she tries to decide what to do today. She grabs some breakfast and watches TV, all the while thinking of a way to enjoy being young while she can. She still wants to get to the magic shop, but it doesn’t seem nearly as urgent as it was the day before.
Whether she’ll do something on the way to the shop or not, she has to leave before her brother’s family comes home. Laura grabs her things, including the dice from the safe, puts them in a backpack, and leaves, locking the door on her way out.
She decides to not bike to the magic shop. It’s a lovely day, after all. She might as well enjoy the walk.
