…she is alone. Laura sucks on her pacifier with relief. The man is gone. Now safe, she toddles back to Liz’s daughter’s room to locate a fresh diaper. Her diaper change is clumsy and difficult, but she successfully removes her soiled diaper, wipes herself down, and tapes on a fresh one.
Laura’s stomach rumbles. The cake at the party was a while ago. She’s hungry again. Like changing her diaper, obtaining food is difficult, but she manages to scrape together something resembling a dinner. With her food, she sits in front of the TV and turns it on. The channel it is automatically on is something with cartoons, and Laura finds herself quickly engrossed in it.
When the show ends, Laura checks her diaper and sees she has wet it again. With a sigh, she returns to the kid’s room and gives herself yet another diaper change, this one clumsier than before due to her growing exhaustion.
Once in a clean diaper, Laura looks up at Liz’s daughter’s crib. She should be able to get in, but she’s so tired that the effort required doesn’t feel worth it. After a moment, she leaves the room and seeks out Liz’s bedroom. She crawls into Liz’s bed with some difficulty and curls up under the covers, sucking on her pacifier for comfort. Sleep comes quickly.
