To their joint surprise, both Kaitlin and Laura become engrossed in the cartoons immediately. Midway through the episode, Anna returns, removes Laura’s pacifier, and pops a bottle of milk into her mouth. Laura drinks it eagerly as she watches TV. Eventually, Anna comes back and turns off the TV.
“Breakfast is ready,” she announces. “But before we eat, a quick diaper check.” Anna sticks a finger down the back of Laura’s diaper. “Hmm. That milk went through you. You’re wet.” Laura blushes at the discovery that she wet herself without realizing. “But not wet enough for a change.” Anna picks Laura up and looks at Kaitlin. “Kaitlin, go wash up. And maybe try to use the bathroom instead of the training pants.
“Yes,” Kaitlin mumbles, blushing like Laura. She goes to the bathroom, where she discovers that she really did need to go. She washes her hands and comes to the kitchen. Laura is already in a highchair being spoonfed baby food by Anna.
“You’re all set,” Anna says, nodding at a plate on the table with a pancake already cut into bite-sized pieces on it. Kaitlin eagerly scarfs down her breakfast. Before she finishes, Laura empties the jar of baby food and is whisked away by Anna for another diaper change and to be dressed.
“Put these on,” Anna says when she returns. She hands Kaitlin a pair of light-up sneakers and socks. Laura is dressed in a pair of overalls that do nothing to conceal her obvious diaper bulge, her hair has been put into cute pigtails, and she is sucking on her pacifier yet again. Kaitlin puts on the shoes and socks. “Ready to go?”
“Yeth.” Kaitlin hops off her chair and follows Anna to the front door. On their way out, Anna grabs a prepared diaper bag sitting by the door. Kaitlin gets into the car without prompting, while Laura is buckled into the same car seat she was in the night before. The car pulls out of the driveway.
“Where go?” Laura asks, removing her pacifier to talk.
“The magic shop, eventually.”
“Eventually?” Kaitlin asks.
“We have to do something else first.”
“What?” Laura asks.
“You’ll see,” Anna says in a singsong voice. She turns on the radio, ending any further conversation. Laura puts her pacifier back in her mouth and sucks on it as they travel, looking out the window at the buildings passing by. Eventually, they come to a stop in front of a large park.
“We at park?” Laura asks, removing her pacifier again. Anna nods.
“Like I said, we have to do something before we can go to the magic shop. But don’t worry, girls, you’ll have fun! We’re here for…”
