The train ride passes by quickly. Both Laura and Mason are given snacks, though Laura’s consists of a bottle of milk, while Mason gets a bag of goldfish crackers and a juice box. The attendant checks on Laura’s diaper shortly before they arrive at the train station and loudly announces she is dry, to Laura’s relief and embarrassment.
When the train comes to a stop and the new attendant comes to pick them up, Mason quickly informs them that he and Laura are siblings, and they’ll be meeting with their dad at the station. The attendant believes him and allows him to disembark with Laura. At the platform, Mason spots his friend and walks over to him, bringing Laura with.
“Mr. Ben?” Mason asks. Ben looks down and smiles at them.
“You must be Matt and Laura!” he says cheerfully. Laura glances at Mason, but she shouldn’t be surprised he gave Ben a fake name. After all, Ben knows Mason. The children nod. “Your uncle owes me one. Let him know that, okay?”
“Okay,” Laura pipes up. Ben beams at her. He picks her up.
“You’re in luck, sweetie. I have a girl your age, so I’ve got a car seat for you.” Ben takes Mason’s hand and leads him out of the train station. They head for a station wagon. Mason climbs in and buckles up without prompting, while Laura is strapped into a car seat. “And your uncle sent me the address to drop you off at. Is it this one?” Ben holds out his phone for Mason to look at.
“Yeah, that’s it,” Mason says, glancing at the address.
“Got it.” Ben gets in the driver’s seat and pulls out of the parking lot. He engages Mason and Laura in some casual conversation during the drive. Ben is sure to ask Laura questions that can be answered in a couple words, which she appreciates.
Finally, they pull up outside of a store. The moment they come to a stop, Laura feels warmth flood her diaper. She blushes at the realization she is wetting herself again. Ben looks out the window.
“Uh, this is some sort of magic shop. You’re really supposed to be dropped off here?”
“Yes, our dad works here,” Mason says. Ben frowns thoughtfully, visibly doubtful of what Mason told him.
