As the first reveal meeting continued in the Town Hall, Tad was beginning to prepare dinner for himself and Amy. She had accepted his invitation to stay for dinner since she still had about an hour or two before she had to be home for the night. His mom and Claire were upstairs in their room, presumably asleep. He’d make some extra dinner for them so they could have some whenever they woke up.
“So what’s on the menu for tonight?” Amy asked playfully as she watched Tad from the kitchen table.
“Well, I’m not much of a cook, so I really can’t do anything too fancy,” Tad said, feeling a little embarrassed. “It’s one of those skills that I haven’t really had the chance to practice. I will definitely practice cooking different dishes in the future, but for now, does pasta with some leftover chicken sound okay?”
“Of course that’s fine,” Amy said, giving Tad a reassuring smile. “You don’t have to worry about impressing me though. You’ve already won my heart.”
Tad couldn’t help but chuckle a little. “That was a bit cheesy,” he said, earning a laugh from Amy. When she finished laughing, the female werewolf asked “So do you have any plans this weekend? Since we don’t have school Friday, we’ve got an extra day of free time.”
As she was saying this, Tad walked over to the fridge and pulled out the container of leftover chicken. He took the lid off and placed the container in the microwave to heat up the chicken. “I don’t have any plans this weekend,” he said, looking away from the microwave towards Amy. “Aside from spending time with you, of course.”
“Good,” Amy said. “I was hoping that we could take a walk through the woods tomorrow night. Just you and I alone under the moonlight.”
Tad quickly picked up on what Amy was implying. “Yeah, that sounds nice,” he said with a smile. As he moved to finish preparing dinner, Tad began to speak again.
“I’m sorry that I haven’t been spending a lot of time with you this week,” he said. “I feel a bit bad.”
“No, don’t feel bad!” Amy said. “One of your closest friends just moved to Moon Lake, and you’ve been trying to make him feel welcome here. You don’t need to apologize to me for any of that!”
Tad smiled at Amy as he began to put the food on their plates. “Thanks Amy,” he said. “But I still feel like I have to make it up to you somehow.”
Amy just laughed as Tad brought over their plates to the table and sat down next to her. “You don’t need to make up anything to me,” she said. “But if you insist, then promise me you’ll show me a good time tomorrow night.”
Tad leaned in and kissed his girlfriend on the cheek.
“I promise.”
