'What the hell? What's happening to me?'
'Your changing Mum. Just like I did'
'I don't want to be a little girl'
'Neither did I'
However after several minutes it became clear that Mandy was not turning into a little girl. She was becoming a duplicate of Paul - the teenage boy Paul
Mandy was still in her ballet leotard and her changing shape was becoming clear 'I'm turning into you' she said as her voice broke
'I told you it was the medallion'
'I believe you now'
'I look ridiculous'
'You made me wear a dress. You need to put on some of my clothes'
'Hmm. Maybe this isn't so bad. You touched the medallion to a leotard and turned into one of my students. I think I recognize you actually, a little girl who only lasted one lesson. Then I touched your sports uniform with the medallion and turned into a copy of you. I think the medallion just changes you into the person whose clothes you touch. So all I have to do is touch some of my own clothes and I'll be myself again'
Mandy tried touching the medallion to the leotard he was still wearing. Nothing happened 'Not even a zap' he said
'Let me try' suggested little girl Paul. She took the medallion from Mandy and tried touching it to what used to be his sports uniform. Nothing happened.
'Shit! It's not working'
'Language young lady. Good little girls don't swear' That sounded silly coming out in Paul's former voice.
'I'm not a little girl'
'I'm sorry but you are. And unless we can figure out how to get this thing working again you might be stuck that way'
'Mum. Could you ring up Dave's Dad and tell him I won't be able to play basketball tonight. he was going to pick me up at 6.15. Tell him I'm sick'
'But your not sick'
''Mum! Look at me! I can hardly play basketball looking like this'
'Hmm. You could play for the under10 girls team'
'Very funny. Could you please ring Mister Scott'
'No I won't. You can't play in the boys under 18 team but I can. I used to be pretty good at hoops when I was at school'
