Stuart was heading back from the library, thinking about the differences between the calm, quiet library and the chaotic, noisy classroom he was due to return to. He was seemingly the one nerdy guy in the whole of the corner of the classroom where he was assigned to sit. The other guys there were all football players, all big, macho men who very much enjoyed either pushing Stu around, or just pretending they didn't even see him there. Stu wanted to get out of it, but a couple of them used him to do their papers for them, and the teacher, who doubled as the football coach, didn't want his players to lose out on an asset.
Stuart was not exactly someone who could very easily defend himself. He was about five foot eight, about 120 lbs even if soaked wet, and had long, bushy black hair and green eyes. He even had a problem with his body - namely, a concave chest issue that prevented him from really getting any more physically impressive than he was right now.
The nerdy young man felt his foot hit something on the way out, and he checked to see some kind of remote laying at his feet. Tilting his head a bit as he examined it, leaning down, he picked it up and contemplated what to do. This thing obviously belonged to someone, and he was not the kind of guy to just take this thing and run off with it. Maybe it belonged to the library... his thoughts were interrupted as he examined the remote in detail;

Now this was puzzling. This definitely didn't look like anything that would belong at the library. What did these things even mean? Blend into environment? Blend in with people? Reverse mode? "What the hell? Did some LARP group drop this thing or something? Is this their scifi gizmo?" Stu started examining it, noting everything was held together incredibly well. The craftsmanship of whoever made this was really pretty impressive.
Now Stu considered himself a bit of a tinkerer, but this was probably years beyond what he could manage. Whatever this thing actually did. He started contemplating what it might do or what device it might be synchronized with...
"Hey, Romes! Get your ass back to class!" Stuart almost dropped it when he heard the harsh voice of Jeremy Vinnson ring out. However Stuart kept his grip on it and glared at the towering guard for a moment before starting to head back.
Jeremy was a very big guy, and he in fact used to be one of the athletes at this very school about six years ago, right before he busted his knee immediately three days before a major game. Jeremy was out and recovering, and he never seemed to get over it. After high school, he became a security guard, and now prowled the halls living his old dreams out through other people...and continuing the bullying he partook in prior.
Jeremy was a big, blond type, stockier now than he was back in high school, but even with about fifty pounds of fat on him, Jeremy was still unjustly a downright paragon of masculine handsomeness. His jutting, strong jawline and figure made him intimidating, and a popular guy even now.
Stuart looked at the remote and contemplated for a minute. What would this thing even do? He looked at the remote, and looked back at the cocky security guard. Maybe he could test this thing out and see if it did anything based on those weird settings. Or just try it out back in class...
