You thought back to the circus tent with Zoey, of the animal mascots, most just wearing glow in the dark fur paint, a leopardess, a lion, a tiger, and a white pony, performing wild acrobatics with glowing rings hanging from the ceiling. The lion and cheetah actually jumped and fell... and landed squarely on their feet without any injury in spite of having been multiple stories up that should have broken their legs. The crowd cheered wildly at the show, and made you envy Zoey a little for getting to perform in this section of the park. You wondered if it was possible to request a transfer. Maybe you could ask Dr. Z that when you saw her.
The music played signaling it was time to close the park. You hoped that the park would begin to stay open later, light shows and light parades would be so much fun for the kids... though that might mean staying u past their bedtime and that was no good!
Instead of going to the hidden entrance of the mascot's lounge, you instinctively marched to one of the big buildings down main street. It was made up to lookalike a cutie version of a building from the beginning of the 20th century, and you couldn't help but think how pretty it looked, so welcoming, so calming, you just knew everything was going to be alright here!
The doors opened for you automatically and you stepped inside, finding another dolly mascot waiting for you, bright red hair with freckles in a white dress with a cross on the front.
"Hello... I think I'm here for my check up with Dr. Z?"
"AH! You Lucy the living doll?"
"That's me!" You said with a smile and your back straight and proud.
"Alright, just go through the door and the second door on your left."
You thought about taking others doors and exploring... but that might make Dr. Z wait for you, and that wouldn't be very nice at all!
You stepped inside, everything still having a childhood interpretation of what a doctor's office might be like.
And you saw a shapely zebra mascot wearing only a Stethoscope and doctor's mirror.
"Ah! Hello Lucy! Nice to meet you in person!" the zebra doctor nodded.
"You're... Dr. Z?"
"That would be me!" Dr. Z said with a smile. "Lollipop?"
"Oh yes!" You immediately accepted it, yummy, strawberry, your favorite! Had it been your favorite before being turned into a mascot? Oh who cared!
"Please stepped onto that machine over there," Dr. Z pointed and you complied. A glowing plastic ring slowly descended around you with a pleasant hum that made you giggle at how pleasant it was.
"Well... stitches, stuffing, vibes, all are giving me the smilie face." Dr Z said. "Now please take off your dress. Don't worry, I'm a professional!" Said the cartoonish zebra.
After doing so, Dr. Z proceeded to poke you in several spots, including where your night bits used to be, treating every spot the same as the other, and being clean and efficient about the whole thing. Though she did hum a gently lullaby as she worked that made you more relaxed.
Dr. Z took a clipboard. "So Lucy, do you remember anything from before you became part of our family?"
"Oh yes Doctor," you said, Dr. Z had been nothing but nice, it would have been naughty to lie.
"Have you been sleeping in your bed?"
"No I've been camping out with Zoey."
Dr. Z rolled her eyes. "... Oh course, Zoey. I guess I can't blame her too much, she's a clown, she's SUPPOSED TO BE silly. Have any of the guests been mean to you?"
"Some teens said mean things to me." You admitted lowly.
Dr. Z put a hoof-hand on you shoulder. "Well, if they keep being mean to you, let Security Sally or any of her pack know, and they'll make sure those bullies don't bother you again."
You nodded. "Thank you doctor. Would they... be made part of our family?"
"... Now why would we with meanies like that?
"Uh... I wanna write stuff... can I have a pen for me to use?"
"Oh sure!" She took a spare pen and gave it to you without fuss. "What do you need it for?"
"I'm gonna explore the park on my own!"
"Oh! Do you need a map? I have a spare here too I think-"
"Oh! No! I found one on my own, thanks." You felt a bit silly realizing you could have just ASKED FOR a map.
Dr. Z made a tiny pout. "... You didn't borrow one without asking did you?"
"OH NO NO NO NO! NEVER!"
Dr. Z patted you on the back with a smile. "Oh sorry! I'm just teasing! I know a good little dolly like you would NEVER do a thing like that."
"Oh! Okay Doctor!"
"You been eating your breakfast and dinner?"
"YEP!"
"Good girl. So what do you and Zoey talk about on your sleep over?"
She look slyly around and whisper, "It's a secret!"
"Oh, okay dear, I won't pry more."
