My name is Marry I have worked at Richards department store since I was sixteen, eight years ago, shortly after that I found out I was pregnant with my daughter and dumped by my jerk of boyfriend. "Mommy can I see Santa?" Nikki my pride and joy says. "Sure sweetheart, get in line, I can see you from the counter" I tell her. The line is short this December twenty fourth. I am over seeing the teens serving the wrapping table today, their good kids and really do not need much supervision. I see her get in line. "She still believes" Dan the under managers says. "She is only seven uncle Dan" says Elli one of the teens, daughter of Dan`s older sister. Dan scowls as he walks away. I have let Elli babysit Nikki some times, heck I use to babysit Elli, her brother Frank and sister Grace.
It is only a few moments before Nikki is second in line. The Santa looks at the mom of the little girl ahead of her, "Ho ho ho, little girl, your mom would make a nice misses claws, what do want for Christmas?" the Santa says. I hear my sister Nancy`s giggle, must be Jeff under that Santa suit. "A doll" the girl says, the Santa hands her a wrapped object shaped like a doll box. "Remember unwrap it tomorrow morning, kids" Santa says. The mom and daughter walks away. Nikki walks up to Santa, "Hi Santa (giggle)" she says "What do you want little girl HO, HO, HO? he says. "A board game, Santa" she says. She had been bugging me to buy a new board game for a while.
We have wrapped sevel copies of the game of change in the sack.
He hands her a wrapped box.
We head home after having dinner.
We head for my parent`s house.
The next morning Nikki garbed the box from Santa first. She unwrapped the box and giggled as she saw garishly colored box. She opens a few more gifts, than after lunch she sets up the game. Five of her cousins come to play Olive, Nancy`s own seven year old daughter, Ben and Calvin, eight year old twin boys, Stacy (ten) and Ted (six) join them.
