Emily had to look away as the flash was too bright, but in doing so she missed Rick's change. Rick shrunk incredibly fast, reaching the point where he was smaller than a hand, as his age tumbled backwards. He tried one last effort to call out to Emily before everything went dark.
He felt warm, and he seemed to be surrounded by some kind of liquid. He tried opening his eyes but they wouldn't budge.
"Am I an object or something?" He wondered.
To test this, he tried to move something, anything to see for sure, and finally he was able to feel and then move his arms. They barely moved much, but they were there. Oddest of all, one was suddenly caught on something as he tried to feel his face. His hand got caught on a cord... connected to his stomach?
"Oh shit." He realized suddenly. "I'm an unborn infant!" He internally screamed, trying his best to wave around for help, lightly kicking and punching with the muscle that had yet to form.
Outside, Olivia placed her hand on her protruding stomach and chuckled.
"Ohh, baby you gotta calm down." She laughed.
Rick heard this as if a megaphone surrounded his body.
"Of course, I'm in Emily's mother?!" He rhetorically asked.
"You gonna be a star football player, or maybe a ballerina depending on what side you choose. Do your momma a favor and be another precious girl so we can have all sorts of cute makeup, and dresses to play with." Olivia whispered, twirling her curly afro with a comb, admiring her ebony beauty in the reflection.
Rick heard this and felt extremely weird.
"Geez, am I that young now? My gender hasn't even been freaking decided?" He wondered. "No. No it can't be that'd be too late since I have limbs... so they must be waiting for a surprise." He reasoned, reaching down to check. All he found was a void where his member should have been. "Perfect." He thought sarcastically.
"Ba!" Dana gurgled from her crib.
"That's right honey." Olivia smiled, lifting up her one year old daughter. "You have a baby sibling in here. You're gonna be a big sister." She laughed. Her joy was momentarily interrupted as her daughter Emily burst into the room. "Oh goodness Emily you nearly gave me a heart attack." She sighed, placing Dana back down.
"Mom." Emily said, still in distress about Rick's seeming disappearance. "You took a picture of me with an old camera a minute ago. Where is that camera?" She asked.
"Calm down honey its right he-" She began before noticing it was no longer on the cabinet where she had placed it a moment before. "Huh that's odd, I could've sworn I- oh, Dana!" She chuckled.
Emily turned to see a baby girl holding on to the camera, which now faced towards Emily and her mother, who was giggling like crazy. Her heart sank. She figured this was Dylan, but her deductions might not matter in a minute if she randomly transformed again. With Rick missing, she figured if she became a baby or a dog or something then they would never fix this mess.
Rick, meanwhile, was doing his best to try and tell Emily he was all right and that he was right there. He continued to use what tiny strength he had to alert her, but his actions went almost completely unnoticed. Olivia just patted at her stomach, hoping her energetic baby to be would go to sleep soon. Emily only didn't notice her mother's sudden pregnancy as Olivia had always been thicker, and mixed with a pregnant type that didn't show well at all meant Rick's pleas went unnoticed.
"Hey, hey bud." Emily struggled a smile, gently walking towards the baby in the crib. "Why don't you just give me that huh? Would you? Would you like that?" She said putting on her best babying voice which made Dana giggle even more.
"Oh Emily relax honey, it's an old polaroid those things can last a bomb, just take it from her." Olivia scoffed with a grin, walking over to just rip the camera out from the one year old hand's.
"No! Don't!" Emily warned before a flash filled the room.
