Kaitlin rushes over and scoops the dice up, then brings them over to Anna, who puts them in a pocket.
“Now what?” Kaitlin asks. “We go to the magic thop?” Anna checks her watch.
“I will,” Anna says. “But you’re going to be staying here for a bit.”
“What?” Kaitlin squeaks. Anna heads out of the store. Kaitlin follows her. “What do you mean?”
“I signed you up for my daughter’s ballet school.”
“Why?”
“Because you’ll have more fun doing ballet than sitting in the car and going to the magic shop,” Anna replies. They arrive at a storefront with a sign reading “Superstar Ballet Studio”. “Ah! Here we are.” She goes inside.
“But I don’t want to,” Kaitlin whines, following Anna.
“I already signed you up.”
“But-”
“If you want, I can drop you off at the mall daycare with Laura,” Anna threatens. Kaitlin pales. She doesn’t want to deal with the humiliation of being in daycare.
“Fine,” she mumbles.
“Good.” Anna goes up to the front desk and checks Kaitlin in. She digs through the diaper bag, pulls out a ballet outfit, and hands it to Kaitlin. “Have fun, sweetie!” With that, she leaves. Kaitlin watches her walk away with Laura still in the stroller.
