To Bill’s immense displeasure, it took multiple breeding attempts before Sherry became pregnant. However, at Sherry’s first checkup by the vet, it was discovered she was carrying triplets.
“Humans almost never have more than one calf at once,” the vet remarked. “I know you said it took multiple attempts before she became pregnant, but I’d still consider switching her to be a breeder. Few humans are this fertile. You could make a lot of money selling her calves or even renting her out.”
“Hmm.” Bill rubbed his chin thoughtfully. “You might have a point. Sherry is terrible at being a house human. She might be best suited for breeding.”
“Let me know if you need a male human to breed her with. I’ve got one at home that I want to get a calf from,” the vet said. Bill nodded.
A few months later, Sherry was doing her housework when her water broke. Her moo of pain alerted Bill, who quickly ushered her outside to give birth on the lawn. Bill was pleased when each triplet was a cow, rather than a human. Two were boys, one was a girl.
“As a gesture of kindness, I will allow you to name my daughter,” Bill said. Sherry’s eyes welled up with tears. This was unheard of! Her master was truly wonderful.
“Thank you, master!” Sherry looked at Bill’s daughter. “Megan.”
“Megan, it is. I will name my sons, naturally. Bring all the children in once you have cleaned and fed them,” Bill said briskly. Sherry nodded. Bill went back inside, thrilled by the first offspring borne by Sherry. The vet was right. Sherry needed to be moved to breeding stock.
