John and Lucas continued playing basketball all afternoon while Sophie played with her newly feminine twin cousins. The dogs, Max and Rocky (Riley) were often seen running around in the distance.
William was glued to his phone the entire time texting his girlfriend. She didn’t know about the medallion so he couldn’t explain why they couldn’t FaceTime like usual.
“That’s an odd sight, isn’t the catfish usually an older dude and not an 8 year old?” Robert joked.
“Very funny Uncle Robert.” William said without looking up from his phone.
*Beep* *Beep* the timer on William’s phone blared.
“Yes! Hey Mom the 12 hours are up! Can I see the medallion?”
“Aw but you’re so cute as little Willie.”
“Come on mommm.” William stomped his little kid feet.
“Oh fine, it’s not like your current body was a punishment.” She reaches into her purse a pulled out the medallion.
“Here you go, your luggage is in the SUV so change in there.”
Willian took the medallion and ran excitedly into the car and slammed the door.
“Looks like someone’s in a hurry.” Jessica commented.
The parents all looked at the SUV as lowered every so slightly lower due to the added added weight. A faint “FINALLY!” Could be heard from outside.
The door opened to reveal the 18 year old jock in all his glory. He was wearing a loose tank top and compression shorts.
“Glad to be back!” He said as he strutted passed his family.
“Mom can we change back too? Yeah these dresses are itchy.” The twins complained.
“Fine, you can all change back to normal and we’ll use the medallion again tomorrow.” Debbie sighed.
“We better get Riley then since all the kids are changing back.”
“MAX, here boy!” Robert yelled.
The dogs immediately came running.
“William, pass me the medallion.”
After receiving the magic medallion from her son, Debbie grabbed Riley’s sandal from their luggage and immediately pressed it against the small terrier.
“Aunt Debbie, shouldn’t you have waited?”
“Nonsense John, he’s been a dog long enough.”
The little dog began to warmly glow and morph before their eyes. His dark brown fur lightened to a bright auburn. His tail then retreated into his body as his limbs grew back to human proportions.
A nude 14 year old boy was now sitting on the ground.
“Why’d you do that!? Max was just about to show me his favorite digging spot!” Riley yelled.
“You haven’t properly greeted your cousins and aunt and uncle yet. And before you mention it, licking their faces is hardly a proper greeting.”
“Ugh, fine. Hi Aunt Debbie, Hi Uncle Robert.”
“it’s good to see you in the flesh Riley.”
“Flesh is right. Hey cousin Riley, you’re still naked!” Laughed Lucas.
“Huh?” It them clicked in Riley’s mind that he was standing in the middle of the room wearing only his shock collar.
“Oh shoot, I forgot clothes are a thing!”
He quickly tried to cover his shame.
“No problem, I brought you some clothes in case you wanted to be human again.” Doug then tossed a T-shirt and pair of shorts over to his naked son.
“Shower and get dressed so you can meet us all in the dining room.”
The family Labrador Max look confused as to why his playmate suddenly vanished out of this air.
“Sorry bud, guess you’ll need to show me the bones another time.”
An hour later everyone was eating dinner. Jessica and Debbie kept discussing the benefits of Jessica’s young body while both Dads kept shooting fat jokes at each other referring to their original bodies.
The now male twins and Sophie were seated at the kids table.
17 year old Lucas always looked up to his older cousin William. He kept asking him about sports and his girlfriend. William certainly loved the added attention.
15 year old John usually spent his family vacations with Riley but something seemed off. It had been over a year since they had all gathered like this and Riley felt... distant.
John saw that Riley was grabbing food from the table and kept lowering it down. He finally took a peek under the table to see what was going on. Max was under the table receiving all of Riley’s food donations.
“Riley.” Debbie stated in an authoritative tone. “I know you’re not feeding the dog ‘people’ food.”
It seems John wasn’t the only one to notice his cousin’s actions.
“I wasn’t.” Riley lied and loudly slurped up his soup.
“Manners!” Debbie said.
“Sorry... I just-“
William then began to interject. “I mean, can you blame him mom? He spends more time as a dog than as a person these days. He’s just behaving the only way he knows how.” William
“Shut up, ‘Willie.’” Riley mocked.
William was about to argue back when their father raised his hand.
“That’s enough boys. Just eat your dinner WITHOUT making a fuss.” Doug looked at Riley.
“You know what, I’m not hungry.” Riley got out of his chair.
“And where do you think you’re going?”
“Me and John haven’t talked today, we wanted to catch up. Right Lucas?”
“Yeah totally.” Lucas didn’t want to situation to escalate so he just went with his cousins lie.
Both boys then went upstairs to John’s room.
“Hey Doug, maybe spending too much time as a dog isn’t healthy for him?” Robert mentioned
“He’s just being dramatic, nothing to worry about.“ Doug stated dismissively before returning to his meal.
