Before she knew it reality almost instantly started to change around her. Sherry found herself frozen in her chair, unable to move. But she could see things changing in front of her, specifically the computer running the Chronivac software.
It was a fairly typical modern office setup, with two monitors, a webcam perched on one of them, a small 2.1 speaker system(two speakers and a subwoofer), mouse and a tower computer...Before the reality change, it had been the gaming computer of a teenage boy....and it had remained despite the fact it was a bit more hardware than Sherry needed.
She could see her reflection in the screens...and as she watched, her eyes merged...into one large single eye, her nose vanishing into her face. She screamed, and as she did, her jaw locked, her mouth stuck permanently open, a mesh like grill forming over it, which allowed the sound out, but would block anything going in.
The armrests of the chair merged with her arms...her hands expanding toward each other till her fingers interlocked together. She started to realize what was happening when the keyboard drawer slid out of the desk and onto her arms, locking in place.
She couldn't move her neck, but she was able to glance down with her eye...her legs had fused into the chair legs....she hadn't even felt it...the change had been utterly painless....she felt lucky for that....until a new thought interrupted it. What the hell was happening to her breasts? They had already doubled in size and seemed to be growing larger than her torso....or was her torso growing thinner....it was hard to tell as her depth perception was completely gone.
The progress bar on the screen said 50% completed. Her breasts strained against her white blouse, which grew tight against them, growing boxier with each moment....It was then that she stopped being able to see her reflection...because the monitors she was looking at them in began to shift...no longer perfectly flat...
She could see the webcam on the monitors in front of her morphing with them, the two lenses on it growing larger, the tower computer expanding outward and merging with the monitors to form what looked like a torso, the empty rails of the keyboard drawer starting to grow hands...
The chronivac emitter's cable flew at her head, lodging itself in her right ear, while another blue cable clicked into her right ear...Did that go to the internet? She wasn't sure. "Sixty five percent complete," she said...or rather her mouth did.
The computer was starting to look more and more humanoid...with eyes, a nose, and breasts...the blocky pieces rounding into curves. A female...something. 'She' stood up on two legs formed out of the computer desk and stepped out of the corner, the power cords dropping to the floor.
"Transferring end-user license agreement," she said as the power cords attached themselves to her.
"Rebooting system..."
