Lucas snuck his way down the dimly lit streets, snickering to himself the whole time. He had a good reason for being out this late. You see, Lucas is a bit of a trickster; loves making people fall for his pranks and optical illusions. Unfortunately, his material is getting a bit old and he can't necessarily go out to buy more gadgets. Luckily for him, an answer arose recently.
A local abandoned theatre, the Mauve Magistrate, was included as part of a land deal with a bank foreclosure. Tomorrow was the day the deal was to go in effect, making the theatre and everything inside property of the bank. However, inside lay dozens or more leftover items from the heyday of a late magician's career. Dubbed the Splendiferous Stanley, he had passed away ten years ago, right before his final show that lead to retirement. Apparently having been assassinated by loansharks, his theatre and items within have been sitting alone ever since.
"There it is..." Lucas marvelled upon seeing the theatre. Surprisingly, the whole theatre was still looking fresh and new. It was a popular local rumor that Stanley cast magic on the property so it never aged, but most people chalked it up to restoration by whoever previously owned it. Doors and windows had still been boarded up, so Lucas had to sneak around back to gain entry.
Apparently, he found a back door that led right to behind the stage. Inside was a back area with mirrors and tables, with a hallway leading to a prop room. "Jackpot." He whispered sneaking down there. Entering the room displayed tons of classic magician's tricks; so many that he wouldn't know which one. But what he definitely didn't know, was that Stanley's tricks truly were magical, able to alter and change people and their perception of reality. "Which one...." Lucas muttered, looking them all over.
