Laura decides she doesn’t have enough time to get to the train station. She’ll just have to deal with a messy diaper for now. As she makes this decision, her bladder lets loose. Her diaper sags visibly, and Laura is horrified to feel something trickling down her leg. She’s filled her diaper up so much that it is leaking. She can’t walk to the train station like this.
Laura grabs another diaper and some wipes from the bag. A pacifier catches her eye. Curious, she pops it into her mouth. Suckling on it comforts her greatly, so she keeps it in while she clumsily changes her diaper. When she finishes, she can tell that she didn’t do a very good job, but she doesn’t have time to fix it. Laura glances at the clock. She has just enough time to get to the train station.
Laura escapes the play area and grabs her items. Luckily, she manages to sneak out of the restaurant without any issues. She sets off for the train station. As it is, her diaper is bulky and makes walking difficult, so she’s glad to have changed herself. Walking in a full diaper would have been near impossible.
The moment Laura sets foot inside the train station, a nearby employee swoops in.
“Hello, sweetie, where are your parents?” the employee asks.
“Go see dada,” Laura chirps. She holds out her phone with the electronic ticket on it. The employee looks down at it.
“Oh, no, honey, this train already left,” the employee says. Laura’s heart sinks. Tears spring to her eyes. She sniffs. “Don’t worry!” the employee says quickly. “I can get you on board a later train, no problem. Do you know your daddy’s number so that I can call him and tell him your train was changed?” Laura doesn’t know how to respond to that. “It’s okay that you don’t. Come with me, we’ll figure this out.”
The employee picks Laura up and brings her to the main office of the station. Laura is set on the ground to watch the employee pull up her ticket in the system, change her train, and try to track down a number to call. Sucking urgently on her pacifier, Laura wonders if this is her chance to escape.
