Big Sis, Little Bro

added by Wyndon 3 years ago O

Jace and Blue were brother and sister. Jace was 16 years old, his sister, Blue, was 25. Blue was Jace’s legal guardian, she had been for a few years. Their parents were missing, presumed dead. It had been 7 years since that happened and after their grandmother, who took care of them passed away, Blue became Jace’s guardian.

One day while working, Blue was told by her boss that she would be given a very large amount of money if she moved into a house. She was sceptical about it, but after visiting a few times, she decided it was a good idea. She told Jace, who was happy to be moving, and they moved in.
The house was fairly small, but spacious. The kitchen was nice, integrated with the living room. It had a nice medium sized garden. Blue took the room upstairs, next to the bathroom. Jace on the other hand, took the basement. The house had a nice, large basement, just a tiny bit bigger than Blue’s room. It had bookcases, a desk, a large bed. The company even gave Blue a computer, which she gave to Jace since she already had a laptop.

A few weeks had passed, Jace had spent most of his day on the computer watching videos and playing games online. As he payed in bed, ready to sleep, he noticed something. Above his bookcase was a wooden frame. It wasn’t attached to the bookcase, it wasn’t even the same wood.
He hopped out of bed and had a look. He was right. It was around 2:30am so he tried not to make too much noise, but luckily since he was in the basement, he didn’t have to be too quiet. He slid the bookcase over in front of his bed. Behind the bookcase was a door. It had a golden sign on it that he didn’t understand. He grabbed his phone and turned on the flashlight. He opened the door. Inside, was a stone room. It seemed fairly clean. There were windows in three of the walls, at the top. They were covered with green vines, which was weird. But the weirdest part, near the back of the room was a sundial. All alone. It looked old but cleaned recently, strange.

Jace looked around the room to find anything else but he couldn’t. He put his eyes back to the sundial. Quickly he spun around. He heard a whisper in his ear,
“The hell!?” He said alarmed,
“Jace...” a voice whispered in his ear, it was deep yet soft, quiet but clear, “you are not going crazy. I am here to help,”
“W-what?”
“I am here to help you, Jace,” it whispered, “I am here to give you something,”
“G-give me what?”
“Anything. Anything you desire,”
“Anything?”
“Yes, Jace, anything,”
“Really?”
“Yes.”
“But... is there like... a catch?”
“Of course, it’s more, a price. I will tell you exactly what you will lose to gain. But trust me, through the many people I have spoken to, you will not regret it. The bigger the request, the bigger the price, the smaller the request the smaller the price. The request will always outshine the cost, however.”
“I... uh...”
“You need not worry. For I know your desire. The truth is, however, do you know yours?”
“Umm... I think I do...”
“Yes?”
“Yeah... yeah I do know.”
“Then Jace, tell me what you desire, and I will tell you a price,”
