“He said a couple things,” the employee says. “The first one is that the cure for regression takes a long time to make. Bare minimum, four weeks.” Laura’s stomach churns. “The second thing is that he won’t be back from his vacation for another month.”
“Two months?!” Chad shouts.
“What are we supposed to do until then?” Chad demands. “I have a job and a girlfriend!”
“The boss gave me permission to take care of that.”
“How?” Laura asks.
“Well, you’ve got a few options. The first is that I arrange for someone you already know to take care of you while you’re this young, but they won’t know who you really are. The second is that someone you already know takes care of you, knowing who you really are. The third is that I drop the both of you off with someone that regularly watches people in your situation for the boss.”
“That doesn’t solve the problem of us disappearing for two months,” Chad grumbles.
“Oh, don’t worry about that. I’ve got that handled. No matter what choice you go with, starting as of now, no one thinks you’re missing. They think you’re off on an important trip.”
“How you do that?” Laura asks. The employee winks at her.
“Magic,” he replies. Laura smiles. Chad stomps his foot, frustrated.
“This is unacceptable!” he screeches. The employee sighs and walks back to the counter. “I refuse to put my life on hold for two months! Bring him back, now, and make him cure me immediately!” The employee returns carrying a spray bottle.
“This is your first and only warning,” the employee says tiredly. “Stop throwing a temper tantrum or you won’t like what happens.”
“No!” Chad screams.
"Okay, this was your last warning!" At that moment, the employee pulled out a bottle to spray Chad on, but before he could do it, Chad saw what he was intending to do and quickly got behind Laura and the employee accidentally ended up spraying them both.
With a poof, the two toddlers were replaced by 1 year old babies in blue and pink rompers. Both Chad and Laura were completely horrified.
"Sorry, I just wanted to spray Chad and not you Laura since unlike him, you did behave very well. This will only cause the cure to take longer than expected."
"Dithe" Laura tried to tell the employee despite the fact that at her current age she would no longer be able to speak very well.
"The dice? Don't worry. I took care of that while you slept before. They are no longer attached to you."
Laura then pointed with her small hand at Chad, who was still angry about what had happened.
"Goo?" Laura said to the employee.
"What will happen to him? Just like you, he will have the opportunity to choose who will take care of him while he continues in his new age. If he still do not want to cooperate, I will be the one to choose for him. But that will depend on him."
"So Laura, which option do you choose? Since you still can't speak, you can easily use your little fingers to decide the option."
