"W-Where are we?" Fred asked, looking around to see the others. They had all arrived in a large room about the size of their school's gym. It was well illuminated because the roof had bright panels across. The walls were made of large stone bricks, but too smooth to be some ancient castle. Overall the place had a very eerie atmosphere, even though it was warm.
"Ah, we're all here." Marcia commented, looking at Fred sitting on the ground. They were all on one side of the large hall.
"To answer your question Fred, we don't know either." she continued, "What we don't know either is why we are all wearing these?" she gestured down to her new red clothes.
They were all wearing pants and a short sleeved shirt in different colors. The material had a very slight shine to it and felt like an artificial weave. The colors they had one were the same ones as their bracelets, which they also still had with them. They also all had retro style boxers shorts on underneath and Marcia confirmed that she still had a bra, though it became an elastic sport-type one. All keeping in-line with their respective color schemes.
"Ehem," a voice announced itself to the group "if you are done examining your new gear, which I so generously provided for you, I would like to introduce myself." About 2 meters in front of the group and floating a few meters in the air appeared an adult man in a black suit. Or what would be a man if he didn't have a muzzle and hair made of brown spikes.
"I am the guide for your first challenge. It is a team challenge and you will all be competing against each other. The game you are playing is usually pretty sparse with it's information, but lucky for you, I am quite willing to give you newbies a proper introduction. As much as I am allowed to give, anyways." he sighed.
"The contents of this challenge will be decided by the deck of whoever rolled it." he pointed at Abel, "which is you."
"Oh yeah, why was it Abel? I thought Simon decided first", Fred asked into the group and Simon was quick to answer "Ah, that was because I only said I decided, but actually only selected after Abel did."
"Ehem, if you would let me continue? Yes, your turn order is Yellow, Green, Red, Blue" he pointed at Abel, Simon, Marcia and Fred in that order. "You will face different challenges to win prizes. These prizes can and should be used to complete your goals. These goals will be revealed to you by the game in time."
"So right now the prizes don't have any use?" Simon asked. "Why should we put any effort into winning then?"
"Good question! The prizes can be used at any time and will be stored in your armbands." the guide explained. "and there is also a second reason you should do your best in these challenges. Not only does the winner get a prize, but the losers will receive a punishment."
At that last part the guide was smirking quite intensely.
"Now, enough talk. As I said, in this game you will compete against each other. After I gave the signal to start, balloons will drop from the ceiling. Some of these balloons are filled. You want to collect these spheres." he held up a small white ping-pong sized ball. "Tap them against your bracelet and you gain a point. I will tell you now, not all the balloons are filled with nice things. Some of the balloons are better avoided, though you wouldn't know which from just looking." and the guide chuckled to himself eerily for a bit.
"Are you ready? Well, it doesn't matter to me. CHALLENGE BEGIN!"
