Even if was a high reward form, Robert wasn't sure why it drawed him in, but it did. After getting a confirmation pop of if he was sure, he confirmed.
The changes were near-instant, and he wasn't sure what even triggered it. An inject, a zap, or something from inside him? Whatever it was, it happened it extremely quickly. He was shrinking in his own clothing, limbs and even head drawing into what he assumed to be his mental memory of the maggot body on the HUD. Other things were changing, some more obvious like his skin and even his penis, other things he wasn't sure of from the inside of himself. If his stomach, brain, or anything else inside him was suppose to feel a certain way, he wasn't if he could comprehend it.
Then there was his senses, or lack thereof. Because of the quickness of the changes, Robert thought he was just blacking out again but after a few seconds of... not doing anything, he realized he was most certainly conscious and thinking, and LIVING somehow. He decided to keep things simple before he did tried to anything in particular, like his common sense telling him to go into a panic.
First was touch. He could feel the material he was on, which he assumed was the cotton shirt he was just wearing., and it seemed to be of a certain temperature. However things felt "simpler" somehow. Where he remembers the feel of certain textures from his shirt, showing his preference for cotton, it felt bland, not completely plain, but a muted textured of what he remembered as a human.
Next was sight. Since he assumed he was swimming in his own shirt right now, he wasn't sure of the level of darkness, but he felt like the was at least "shadows" in the the almost-darkness he seemed to be living in right now. He made an attempt to move his eyes, the very basic receptor things he could remember from the Maggot HuD summary, but either due to the alieness of his new body or just the way his eyes operatored, he couldn't feel them nor tell if he even had a field of vision.
Next was smell. This was something he felt was more close to what he was use to, but controlling it like a breathing mechanism was out of the question. He guess he was smelling his former human self inside the shirt, and guessing another certain smell seemed to be his current maggot body. Similar to his touch sense, everything "smelled" simpler, even if was new. Unlike his brand new sight, he felt like he could get a direction from his sense of smell and glad that was something he was getting use to already.
His next item was hearing, or lack thereof. He didn't hear anything, and he forgot if he was even suppose to have the biology for hearing. There wasn't even that sort of sense of vabrations if one was wearing headphones, or a "lack of hearing". It was strange and wondered if it was akin to human deafness, but he guess he would have to live with it for now.
Next was taste. Since this was something that required movement and he didn't seem to be breathing like he use to, Robert decided to put this sense on the backburner.
Done trying to get use to his senses, now was the time to get use to his body actively. So far he felt "normal" just standing, or is that laying, still. Heck he had to remember he selected "female" and if that made any different, but he would actually try some movement to see how that went...
