Leon turned to look at his girlfriend, who was now a male winged pegasus centaur like he was. “Jess, are you okay?” he asked her nervously.
Jess’s face scrunched up in confusion. “Who’s Jess? You know my name’s Jeff, babe. And why are you looking at me like that?”
“Jess-” Leon began before Heff quickly corrected him. “Jeff, two minutes ago you were a human girl and now you’re just like me!”
Jeff clutched his sides as he burst out laughing. “That’s the dumbest joke I’ve ever heard!” he gasped as he stamped a hind hoof in amusement. After a moment he stopped and looked from Jake to Leon and back, confused as to why they weren’t laughing.
“No, Jess - er, Jeff, it’s true,” Jake said, turning to his computer to show him the Cheonivac. “I accidentally changed you with this. We were trying to hide Leon so you wouldn’t freak out at him being an alacentaur. The Chronivac has changed him too”
“A what?” Leon whispered to Jake. He’d never heard the word before, but it somehow sounded so right.
“Ha ha very funny,” Jeff said as he rolled his eyes. “Why would I freak out about my boyfriend being the same species as me? Thats as dumb as you trying to tell me I wasn’t born this way.” Jeff turned in a circle with his arms spread wide, showing off his body. “If I’d just been ‘transformed’ then how would I be able to control my body so easily?”
Leon took a hesitant step forward. “Jeff, it’s true! I love the change, but I wasn’t born like this, and neither were you” he said, taking Jeff’s hands in his own. Leon noticed that even though he was looking down at Jeff, it was only because he was bending forward slightly, and wondered if they were the same height now.
“If I wasn’t born this way, then that would mean we didn’t meet and bond because we were the only alacentaurs around,” Jeff said teasingly, straightening up so he could look down at Leon. “And that would mean that we never shared our first kiss while we were flying around the top of Mt. Ashmore.” He leaned down and kissed Leon deeply, cupping his cheek with one hand and moving the other to the small of his human back. Breaking the kiss, Jeff smiled down at Leon and smiled. “But you still kiss as well as I remember.”
Jake noticed that Leon’s eyes seemed to glaze over for a second before he looked up lovingly into Jeff’s eyes. “How could I possibly forget that? You were my first kiss,” the shorter alacentaur whispered. Jake’s jaw dropped and he turned to look at his computer, trying to figure out what had happened. He turned with just enough time to see a pop-up that said “Memory Overwrite Status” closing with a progress bar that was at 100 percent. Jake quickly turned back to the couple and winced as he felt his tail hit his computer and heard a familiar clicking sound. He closed his eyes as he turned back to his computer, dreading what he was going to see.
