As she walks off you remember that you planned to meet with Niko and Emily in a nearby Coffee Shop. You make your way there and find a table, you order yourself a hot chocolate and collect it and sit back down. You browse your phone as you do, waiting for your friends to arrive.
As you sit there, patiently waiting, you finally feel two taps on your shoulder, you turn around,
“Hey! Nice of you to finally sh-” you say before you quickly go quiet,
“So, like, I know you don’t like me and stuff... but like,” she says, trying to avoid eye contact, “you’re kinda cute and...” she pauses, takes a breath, “and I wanted to know if you were like free or something right now,” she says. Waiting for your response.
You are in shock, you knew the wish would work but not this quickly,
“Uh, I’m not free right now,”
“Oh,” she says, her eyes are facing her feet, “okay well, let me give you this,” she unzips her cropped hoodie, giving you a view of her cleavage as she reaches into a pocket and pulls out what looks like a business card. She hands it to you, “I’m gonna be at the pier at like 8pm tonight, so... like... be there or don’t I really don’t care,” she says. She begins to walk away. She stops, turns back and taps you in the shoulder once, “and don’t be late,” she walks off and leaves.
You sit there, shocked, you watch her walk out of view. You look at that card. This worked way better than is should have. The card had her phone number, her name, and a photo of her. It even had her date of birth on it. Typical, she’s older by 3 months.
You sit, thinking on it. Then all of a sudden you hear a familiar female voice from behind you. It’s Emily, she walks in with Niko by her side and sits down in front of you,
“Hiya!” She says to you, you look up and break from your trance, “you look off,” she says, bluntly, “what’s up?” You hand her the card, “holy shit,”
“What is it?” Niko says in his regular quiet voice, “oh my...” he says, quite shocked,
“She gave this to you?” Emily asked, trying to keep her cool,
“Yep. She just walked in a said I’m cute and gave me the card. She asked if I was free but I said no,”
“What!?” Emily said, “why did you say that!?”
“Because I was waiting to hang out with you guys. And besides, she said she wants to see me at eight, tonight,”
“Oh. My. God!!” Emily burst out and said, “you’re going I don’t care what you think. This is the perfect opportunity to mess with her.”
“You said she told you she thinks your cute,” Niko said,
“Yeah, I did,” you respond,
“Holy shit!” Emily says,
You talk for a while about what you should do, rarely changing the topic from Skylar to anything else. They order themselves some drinks.
“How did this happen?” Niko says,
“What?” You respond,
“Well last week she was making fun of us, all of us. Even you, how come she just asked you on a date?”
“Uh...” you begin to remember your wish and that she didn’t actually like you before.
