As Arthur and Monica were about to reach the entrance of the merkingdom, Monica suddenly stopped swimming.
Arthur noticed and turned to look at her, "Monica, what's wrong?"
Monica looked at Arthur with shy eyes. "Arthur, I'll be honest. I'm a bit nervous about this."
"Why? My parents and I are loved by our people. Like I said, my father was a human and the merpeople still accepted him." Arthur replied.
"Indeed but the thing is while your father may not have been born a merman, he was still a prince of a kingdom." Monica replied.
"I, however, was born to a relatively poor family of farmer. I'm a bit worried of how your people would react to a commoner human girl being married to a merprince." She said.
Arthur nodded. "Huh, I never thought of that."
"Yeah. Plus, I never told my parents about the whole mermaid thing. They may be looking for me for all I know." Monica looked down. "I'm sorry for bringing down the mood."
Arthur gave Monica a hug. "No worries. Trust me, it's good we're communicating like this rather than keeping our problems a secret.
"My parents can talk to your family later but I promise you that any mermaid or merman that had a problem with you will have to answer to me. I have power here, don't forget that." Arthur said with an assuring smile.
Monica sighed with relief. "That's good to hear. Thanks for the talk, Arthur."
"My pleasure." The merking's son said before giving Monica a long and loving kiss.
Monica moaned as she felt her tail being wrapped by Arthur's muscular tail. She loved him so much.
After their lips parted, the mercouple flicked their tails and went on to go inside the merkingdom.
