Introducing Jenny

added by AliasX 3 years ago AR Kid

The morning brought the start of Jennifer's first extended period of free time. There was a week before the sets for the full season were completed and rewrites on the scripts for Jennifer's expanded role were underway, so the producers had given the cast the week off to relax before the busy schedule returned in force.

Jennifer saw this as the perfect opportunity to get some of her issues sorted. First and most importantly was the matter of her identity. Jennifer hadn't thought about the complexities when she first set out, so she had simply filled all the paperwork out as if she was her own guardian. As she puzzled how to sort that mess, she realized that could actually be the easiest solution.

No one had seen the adult Jennifer in weeks. Why not make it so "Jenny" as the crew called her was Jennifer's recently arrived charge and she's retired from acting to care for her? That still presented issues with where Jenny came from and why Jennifer never came to set though.

Jenny paces through the house trying to come up with a plausible explanation when she spots an old postcard from her younger brother framed on her bedside table. Once again the solution was staring her in the face. He had sent that card after she had been injured on a horror set years ago, that injury almost put her in a wheel chair. It wouldn't be a stretch to claim that old injury was troubling Jennifer and keeping her homebound.

The postcard also was sent from where her brother had been living abroad doing humanitarian work until he died of cancer a few years back. He could thesibly have had a kid with another worker that came into Jennifer's care and since she kept her maiden name for her career that would cover the same last names. There's still the matter of her lack of a birth certificate, but hopefully that won't be too big of an impediment.

After a digital consultation with an attorney specializing in these kinds of custody/citizenship matters "explaining" the situation, Jenny is relieved to be told that the situation she describes is not unheard of. After sending documents outlaying her and her brother's residency, citizenship, and his death certificate, along with the hefty upfront retainer fee, the attorney assures her the matter will be relatively quick to resolve. Apart from a potential inspection of the home and an interview with Jenny there shouldn't be much more needed from Jennifer.

Jenny realizes that a home inspection of her house in it's current state would raise suspicions, but this process has taken her all day and she's exhausted. She'll have to sort it out in the morning.
