Nicola sat up in bed and thought to herself for a moment. Who was to say that the remote wouldn't work on her? The woman in the shop had been about to hand it to James for that exact purpose before she had wisely intervened. Perhaps it was already bound to her in some way, or whatever the correct magical term was, unlike Lucy who had been nowhere near the shop.
If that was the case she felt relieved she had already seen to it that James had forgotten the existence of the remote and couldn't even see it when she was using it on him. He could have had some serious revenge on her later otherwise. On the other hand, it would be pretty boring of her not to at least try it on herself. She could be in total control of anything that happened to her that way.
Getting out of bed, Nicola picked up the remote and stood looking at herself in her oversized t shirt, that was all she had worn to bed that night, in the mirror. If she was really going to do this she would have to be very careful with her wording.
"Temporarily, just until sunrise tomorrow morning.." she began, suddenly feeling a rush of excitement running through her body. She was 90 per cent sure this wouldn't work anyway, but if she was seriously going to try this she would have to say the words quickly before she lost her nerve "turn me into a rabbit"
Nicola dropped the remote to the ground in a moment of instant regret after she blurted out her latest instruction to iy. A moment later she felt a huge wave of relief as nothing appeared to happen. But then.
"Oh fuck!" Nicola raised her hands to her face to confirm that the whiskers she could see growing there in her reflection were real "oh, fuck, fuck, fuck!"
She fell onto her knees to pick up the remote and cancel her insane command, but the paws her hands were already morphing into had no chance of holding let alone operating it. Panic set in further as she felt herself forced onto all fours and, turning her head saw a fluffy brown tail poking out from the bottom of her t-shirt just above her buttocks. The same brown coloured fur was quickly spreading across her exposed arms and legs.
Looking up and across at the mirror her ears had stretched out and moved to the top of her head, her front teeth were now protruding from her mouth in an almost comical fashion and her face was contorting in front of her very eyes into the typical features of a rabbit.
"Please, no.." Nicola whimpered weakly as the changes accelerated, shrinking her into her t-shirt and quickly reshaping her body as ahe squirmed helplessly beneath it. A few moments later, a perfectly formed brown doe managed to wriggle it's way out of the neckhole of Nicola's now far more oversized than before t shirt and examined its reflection in the mirror in stunned silence.
Nicola was furious with herself. Had she lost her mind? Turning herself into a rabbit to frolic around with James and a few female bunnies may have been a cute fantasy for a few minutes, but in reality this was far from sexy. She had never felt so weak and vulnerable in her life, not even as a child.
Still, there was no need to panic. She had thankfully taken the remote seriously enough to put a reasonably short time limit on this test transformation. She would wait it out in her room for the night (no way was she going out in the hutch!) and as soon as the spell she had stupidly placed on herself wore off she would restore James, erase all of this from his memory and destroy the remote. Simple. In the meantime she should look on this as a lesson not to play arounf with forces she didn't fully understand. Just as she was beginning to regain her composure, she heard footsteps approaching.
"Nicky, are you ok? I thought I heard you shouting?" Lucy asked as Nicola's bedroom door creaked open. Shit! Why hadn't she locked it before she had tried this?!
"I'm just coming into check everything is alright I...oh, another one"
Lucy stared down at the rabbit sitting on Nicola's floor and sighed.
"I see, so Nicky was trying to hide you from me huh?" The responsible roomate asked the innocent looking rabbit "Well, I for one don't intend to lose my deposit over you!"
Before Nicola had even attempted to make an escape in her new body, Lucy had gathered up her in one swift arm motion and was carrying her down the stairs.
"It looks like it's going to be a crowded hutch tonight" Lucy warned the temporary house pet as she walked Nicola into the garden "but don't worry, I'll speak to Nicola about where to buy something appropriate for you and her other rabbit next time I see her"
