The Smiths and the Johns lived next to each other in their apartment complex. Rather nice apartments, but still apartments. Both families were both husband and wife and a little bundle of joy about 6 years old. The Smiths had Jason and the John's had Janet. The families were good friends and often when one of the couples wanted a date night or something the other would babysit and considered it would all balance out. It also helped that the kids kinda got along relatively well. Then they turned 7, and at school Jason started hanging out with other guys who found girls kinda icky. Jason didn't hate Janet, but still didn't want to associate with her too much at school... well he did, but he also wanted to associate with the other guys who didn't want to associate with guys who associated with the girls so...
Both families rarely had the funds to actually go somewhere on their vacations, but one day when they were talking it over they kinda joked about pooling their money and taking one together. Then they thought about it for a second and then brainstormed a bit and then they researched a little. Finally the two families spotted a somewhat large cabin at a camp that would be pretty cheap to rent and would comfortably house both families. It even had a hot tub. It would let them get out of the city and let the kids experience more nature than a few trees planet every so often, and maybe some grass.
When time came the families got to the cabin to find that it was pretty nice. Three bedrooms and bathrooms, a kitchen area, a decent amount of living space. The mothers giggled saying that each of the couples should take a bedroom, the adults not worried about two little kids getting up to too much trouble. In their little room as they got out some of their things... It was already a little awkward as their relationship had turned from friends to toleration. Jason's being rude to Janet at school made Janet a little peeved so she started being rude to Jason at home, and it all kinda spiraled.
Their mothers came to check on the kids and sensing their kids were going through a rough patch said there was a lot to do in the cabin. They could try some of the games stashed in the cupboard, go to the roof and gaze out at the view, or even go in the hot tub. Little did any of them know the nature of the entire Camp.
