CYOTF (New)

Machinations of an Insane Witch

A low growl rumbled from the depths of Isaac's chest as he stirred from his slumber, reptilian eyes the color of gold fluttering open. Attempting to move, the faint rattling of chains flooded his ears; enough to fully rouse him from drowsiness.

In an instant his draconic gaze snapped to the scaled mounds of muscle that served as his arms, extended outwards and held aloft by a pair of ethereal chains wrapping around both wrist and bicep. Drifting down to his feet and tail, shackles coiled tight around his ankles and the tip of the weaponized appendage implied that he was indeed bound.

A faint light shining overhead reflected off his metallic scales, clearly illuminating the room much more than intended as from his shackled position he glimpsed a pair of stone doors inscribed with a language he could not understand.

Craning his neck as best he could to examine the room from his position, he concluded he was in some sort of ritualistic chamber, no doubt utilized for some form of worship. Six large stone pillars lay placed around him, shooting upwards into the darkness of the chamber's ceiling; runic inscription snaking from the stone and onto the ground around him. Undoubtedly a script for some greater purpose, though once more he was hindered by being unable to read it.

Though, granted his position relative to the script trailing along the stone ground, perhaps it wouldn't be too far-fetched to conclude he was to be offered as some form of sacrifice…?

Flexing his unrestrained claws, Isaac grit his teeth as he attempted to wrench free of the magical bindings. Knowing full well the action was useless, he figured he should've at least tried.

Either out of coincidence or due to the loud rattling from his struggles, the ethereal runes upon the stone doors at the front of the chamber shimmered; opening with a rumble and allowing a pair of footsteps to flood the room.

The dragon's golden eyes narrowed as they fell upon the slim, black-robed form he knew as Sera; brunette hair framing her youthful face accentuating her eyes filled with insanity. He couldn't deny the unease that flooded him as she settled her dark gaze on him, scales tensing defensively.

"...Even now, you intimidate me. Had it not been for such unpredictable factors, I wouldn't have ever assumed more of your kind to have existed." A depraved grin grew across her face, now standing inches away from the claw upon his chest. "An intriguing subject indeed… I can only wonder the potential you'll be able to grant us."

"Enough out of you." Isaac snarled, baring his fangs threateningly. "Where have you taken my companion?"

"Companion… that armored human I presume?"
The brunette-haired witch smiled, dark eyes locking with his own. "Our leader had the generosity to have him be converted to our ranks. After all, what better than to have a Paladin turn to the path of true salvation?"

"As if you'd know any meaning of such a word, witch." The dragon spat, eyes alighting in a futile fury. "Who is this 'leader' of yours?"

"My, such thirst for things you cannot comprehend!" Sera laughed, stepping back in apathy towards his rage. "For all your show of bravado, dragon, you fail to realize you aren't the one in a position of power here. Though, the same could have been said for your kind a millennia ago."

Isaac lowered his head silently. She hadn't gleaned the fact he was not in reality a surviving dragon from the age of the Progenitor… though, perhaps there wasn't much of a difference between acting as a reborn vessel.

He could only shiver at what could come next.

"Though, if you must know, our dear Lady Aeris sees the unfathomable power you possess; deeming you an obstacle. Truly unfortunate, though because of that…" Sera's voice trailed off, lips parting with another smile as she turned back to the stone doors at the front of the chamber. "Tselia, bring forth my tools!"

Another set of steps flooded the chamber, the dragon's golden eyes rising to settle upon a tall robed figure. Much like Sera, she did not wear a mask, thus revealing her canine face; amber eyes accentuated by ashen fur that seemed surprisingly well-kempt. He found his breaths quickening at what she held in her clawed hands, a jagged dagger-like blade alongside a chalice filled to the top with Corruptive essence.

"Perfect…" The witch nodded with a jitter, eagerly taking the dagger from the wolfess' grip and turning to face the bound silver-scaled dragon. "You seem well aware of what this is, don't you, dragon?"

"W-Wyrmslayer…"

Isaac's voice quivered, a dull hum cascading upon his mind. While he himself didn't know the significance of such a blade, why he felt such unfathomable fear, or how he even recalled the name, the Progenitor within did.

"Good, good…" Sera chortled, brandishing the dagger extravagantly and causing him to flinch. "It should practically be embedded into your subconsciousness at this rate, shouldn't it? This is the very weapon we used to decimate your brethren during that war, after all."

She turned back to her lupine companion, who held the chalice out towards her. A single motion, and the witch lightly dipped the blade into the Corruptive essence; metallic sheen gaining a menacing purple glow.

By mere sight alone, the dragon knew the liquid was the Corruption in its purest form; lacking a host. And on the blade of a wyrmslayer no less…

"You're dismissed." Sera motioned to Tselia, the wolfess bowing and placing the chalice upon the floor before departing in haste.

The stone doors slammed shut behind her, leaving him alone with this insane witch; whose sinister gaze was settled intently upon his body, the hum of the wyrmslayer seeming to grow as she neared.

"Now then... where shall we begin?"
